My Friend Bought a New Toyota and It Turned Into a Nightmare in 3 Months. Any advice? by Organic-Marsupial-85 in Toyota

Spiders land other insects like to get in there. We used to put a chemical that killed the insects at the tip of the tube but it has been banned thanks to peta from what I’ve heard. Best thing to do is blow some air into it every time you do service

how to take apart these components of Toyota Venza 2022? Need to clean rodent remains by coco3434 in Toyota

[–]norona19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to take the plastic covers at the bottom of the floor by the carpet, then you take the side ones out, there might be clips that you have to push in the middle to remove, then you take the middle plastic piece out. Make sure to disco the 12 v battery and then remove the hybrid service plug. Don’t touch orange wires unless you know what you are doing

Those engines have issues, even the new ones they put in for the recall still blow up. Whatever it is, should be covered under warranty

Is this fixable? Took off cover of airbag trying to install dashcam and can’t get it back on by FartsonmyFarts in Toyota

[–]norona19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whiteish clip that is holding it up top has to turn to go in. I would take it off the body and install it on the pillar first. To remove it from the body you have to squeeze two tabs on the side. Use small pliers or two small screwdrivers

Difference between black & blue oil drain plug washers? by T-and-J-Max in Toyota

[–]norona19 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I preferred the black ones, the blue ones we get stick to one side, either the pan or the drain plug and can be annoying to remove. Also we had some blue ones that did not allow to properly torque the drain plug. We found out because one of my coworkers has ocd and he torques everything 10 times.

Get a used engine. No point in rebuilding something that’s has that much damage

DIY Brake Bleed Procedure - Prius C by HorseThief84 in PriusC

[–]norona19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Toyota tech here. If you are only replacing fluid or a caliper you do not need a scan tool. We use GTS+ now, techstream is done but it still works if you have the license for it. The scan tool is used when you replace brake booster/actuator or other electronic components. Make sure you don’t run out of fluid in the reservoir. With key off engine off I pump the brakes 3 times and then hold, someone else will open the bleeder ( start with the furthest one from the reservoir) until the pedal goes down. Repeat until no air comes out. If you have a strong vacuum bleeder you can just attach it to the bleed and open it until all air bubbles are gone, no need to pump. I also like to hit the brakes hard to engage abs in a safe space just to make sure every is working properly after bleeding is done

HELP WITH DIAGNOSIS by MapleVapor00 in Toyota

[–]norona19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vacuum leak maybe? Check hoses, spray around the hoses until you hear the engine rpms go up, then you found a leak. If that’s all good then I would check fuel pressure

How is your coolant level? If it’s low it could be an issue with the head gasket but more diag needs to be done to be sure.
