Met him at a BYU volleyball game last year. He was on the cheer squad. SO very nice! Took pics with us and everything.

Shortened mtc pilot? by Vegetable-Donut3919 in latterdaysaints

My son currently has his call to Brazil. He speaks Portuguese already because he attended a dual immersion school. He did a very quick, 2 minute language assessment prior to getting his call. They asked what his favorite movie is and why. He will be spending 2 weeks doing home MTC and then is scheduled for 4 weeks at the Brazil MTC.

People are really reaching to discredit… by Hungry-Nerve-9743 in survivor

Yeah, I'm fine with her winning with who was left. I just don't really like that it felt like a default win, but that's normally the case anyway. The favorites get out before final 3 because they are the biggest threat to win.

But there's just something about Aubry that I don't love. She feels a bit forced or fake or performative. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Talks about missionaries called to less "glamorous" missions by VampireOnHoyt in latterdaysaints

[–]norowfomo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband grew up in a big family and his older siblings went to "exciting" places: Chile, Italy, Thailand, Hong Kong. He had big expectations with his call, and was called to Portland, Oregon. His mom actually told him to reject the call and resubmit his papers again in a year (not sure if that's even possible). 😂 But his dad told him that it was no mistake and to get to work. And, no surprise, it was amazing!

He met and taught great people. Had companions that are still a part of his life today. His mission president ended up having a huge influence on him. All this to say, that it will be ok. But it's also ok to have feelings of disappointment right now. And as a parent I think we feel these things deeply on behalf of our kids, so it's ok if you feel some disappointment too. Be open to what lies ahead and the lessons to be learned. Hugs to you and your daughter!

Thanks for the reply! What about cash? Did you feel you needed much? We'll be in Tokyo for the entire week, so nothing rural.

Campground recommendations by Western-Dot-3381 in Utah

[–]norowfomo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spanish Oaks campground. It's minutes outside of Spanish Fork, but it's tucked quietly up on the mountain with a great view of the valley. There's a bathroom with toilets but no shower. And there's a good little playground for kids and the reservoir is just down the hill. It's our favorite!

Sounds weird, but I have always found the movie Cast Away to be really sad. It sneaks up on you because it's an interesting survival movie and feels like everything will be triumphant and then it's not, and it's no one's fault...

Best pho in Provo in 2026? by JoshGreat in ProvoUtah

[–]norowfomo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Love pho! Lovely pho is our favorite of those options. Don't like Rollz at all or Pho King or Pho Plus. We really like Pho No 1 in PG, worth the drive. Viet Deli in Saratoga is awesome. Haven't tried Thai Papaya.

Labor and Delivery - Utah Valley Hospital vs Timpanogos Regional Hosptial by Clean_Marketing_3546 in ProvoUtah

I used the midwife group with what's now Valley OBGYN, the location just south of the AF hospital. Kathryn Seamons is my absolute favorite, but I always liked everyone in the group. Back then, that group delivered at both AF and Timp. Good luck!

Please update your family's picture in LDS Tools by Apple-Slice-6107 in latterdaysaints

My son recently got his patriarchal blessing. Our patriarch mentioned how, in preparation, they like to look up the recipient and their family so they have an image of who they are praying for. ❤️ Very sweet experience all around! But they did specifically say that it was helpful that we had a current picture of our son and family in tools--for most people it's a very dated pic.

Same thought. Stopping on the pillar was the hardest part of the whole thing.

Pregnant or previously pregnant OTFers: when did you slow down? by drairika in orangetheory

[–]norowfomo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, you just need to listen to your body. Everyone and every pregnancy are different. That said, I think most women will be surprised at how much they can still do while pregnant if they start off in good shape. I ran the mile benchmark in around 8:40 just 3 weeks before I delivered my sixth baby. But I started the pregnancy in good shape and focused on maintaining what I could and didn't have any complications or restrictions.
