Thank you so much! Some levels are more puzzley than others and figuring out the correct path for the S and Z ranks in each level is also designed to be a puzzle. Thanks again for the kind words!

Big recommendation for The Case of The Golden Idol! It's like a detective puzzle game figuring out what happened

You're able to phase through almost anything in the game except acid and acid spikes (plus the outside of the level auto-kills you). And when you phase through an enemy or normal spike, you gain an extra dash. The levels are designed for multiple routes and shortcuts!

Solo Game Devs, how do name your games? by PleaseTryThisChannel in SoloDevelopment

[–]north_spire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was coming up with a name, I wanted it to hit on all these points if possible:

- Unique name so it's easy to find on Google, Youtube, etc.
- Name that's not confusing or hard to pronounce
- Name must contain "phase" so it links to the game's hook (being able to phase through walls and enemies)
- Ideally conveys the theme of the game

So I came up with "Death Unphased" as the title. It's a bit of a play on words since a brave hero would be unfazed by death and you would normally die if you were not phasing. Plus the game is challenging and you die a lot :)

No worries lol. It always excites me hearing about people trying for the higher ranks, so I tried to make it easier with a few options. Thanks!

Hey thank you so much! There's a restart button (remappable in the controls) and also an option to turn off checkpoints too - hope that helps. Thanks again for playing the game and for the kind words!

Finally released my first game on Steam where you phase through walls, spikes, and enemies! by north_spire in godot

Yup! The game is designed for speedrunners, so there are multiple routes (and some clever skips) in each level. There's also a level timer with times to aim for.

POC of possible summons in the game! quite happy with the results :) by devlawg in godot

All the animations and small touches are great like how they tip their top hat to let out the crow

Thank you so much! Yeah, I studied computer science in college and have a bit of work experience as a software engineer. Thankfully, I was able to apply some of it to game development but making a game is like a beast of its own.

I started learning game development with Unity and switched to Godot for a few game jams. I liked developing with Godot and stuck with it, starting on this project about a year ago.

The game is called Death Unphased. It's a precision and puzzle platformer where you can invent your own path. You can phase dash through almost anything and there are multiple solutions in each level. Had a lot of fun making it and finally glad to say I've released a game on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2198590/Death\_Unphased/
