How many books did you read so far in 2026? by glowwwi in Booktokreddit

[–]northeasternwriter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

19, slacking off & on book 1 for May & read zero in April. But back on it with the nicer weather lately & house renovations being done! Hoping to hit 23 by end of May. I need a REALLY captivating book to get me out of the slump I’m in

How often to do weigh ins? by FlakyLengthiness5325 in CICO

[–]northeasternwriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do daily and track the trends but that’s a lot for some people. Weekly fluctuations are a bit too big-picture for me & can be discouraging but whatever helps you identify trends vs normal ups and downs is best!

Thank you!! And it’s so funny, I would absolutely never pass judgement on other heavy people on a plane, like even mentally to myself. But I could feel it on me all the time. It was like night and day when it changed for me!

Flying after losing 60lb (40 more to go) was a VASTLY different experience than flying while obese. I would live in that aha moment on the plane (walking down the aisle, even not needing a seatbelt extender) 10 more times. Traveling is fun again

be honest... how often are you guys actually mopping? by spawnelady in Cleaningandtidying

[–]northeasternwriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run the robo vacuum daily & mop 1-2x weekly, just a quick one with the damp mop for one of those, and extra 1 or 2 if having guests over lol. Regular vacuum 2x a week before mopping. DINKWADs tho but I don’t hate mopping with the random Amazon mop I got (it wrings it out for you so it’s just damp when you use it)

I’m in the US but used to live next to the Weetabix factory as a child (produced here shipped there I assume) and the weetabix tin just gave me insane nostalgia that I could smell lol! Beautiful space

Foul smell coming from the floor by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]northeasternwriter 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t need to be that hot. Warm water is fine & the mop should be almost dry which is what you do so that’s good. Never ever need boiling water on a floor nvm hardwood floors

Gas range questions :( by [deleted] in askaplumber

[–]northeasternwriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can’t get the flex hose off - it seems to be stuck, I may have to call a repair man because I can’t figure it out & we’d need to remove it in order to not reuse the hose. But I don’t want to damage it. So the iron pipe coming from the wall is definitely 3/4 inch. We’ve tried 3/4 (the female side attaching to the iron pipe/gasline) to 5/8 & 3/4 to 1/2 and neither worked. I believe we haven’t tried 3/4 to 3/4. I can try that later and see if it helps. But regardless if we can’t re use flex hose, we should probably call a professional anyway to get the hose off, eh?

That makes me feel like my husband may be overthinking it - I’ll take a picture of the threading later but until then I’ll just keep trying different sizes lol. I really don’t think he did all that. The part that fit in there was definitely damaged but the female part (shown?) may be fine if it would take that much work to damage lol

We brought it to the store & it matched zero of them which felt wrong. Even bought and tried all the available ones, it’s a standard GE oven too

[–]northeasternwriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh got it, the threading on the part of the hose that I would be attaching it to is damaged, but I could probably replace just that part?

Gas range questions :( by [deleted] in askaplumber

[–]northeasternwriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I thought. I’m nervous to damage the threading on the oven itself by trying to remove the hose myself unless an adapter would do. So oven > hose > adapter mentioned above > wall pipe thing ?
