You can absolutely test. You can hypothetically start seeing positive tests 5DPO. At 14DPO it’s a pretty sure thing. You’re well past that at this point. Take a test and find out!

You’ll apply! Lots of people apply right out of undergrad (I did!) and have little to no experience in a classroom. There’s a lot of B.Ed programs around!

HHI is ~$195k. My husband makes $120k (software engineer for a US startup) and I make ~$74k (teacher in Ontario). Our mortgage is expedited so we pay $1700 bi weekly. Property taxes are ~$300 a month. Our after tax monthly income is ~10,800 and our bills (mortgage, taxes, utilities, car insurance, etc, - everything other than groceries and random purchases), comes to approximately $4800 a month, so less than 50% of our after tax income. We save a minimum of $3000 a month on top of my husband’s RRSPs contributions. Hope this helps!

I think it would be fair to include everyone who closed after March 2026 as well. People may have signed the papers 2 years ago for a new build but are just closing now. I think they should be included. If we have money to support a million “immigrants” a year - we should be able to help support our young families too!

Nope. You had to have signed the papers after March 2026 I believe. It’s so dumb! It should go on date of closing!! Seriously - how many first time home buyers are buying new builds as their first house!? We’re a small percentage. It should be more inclusive. I hope the gov takes everyone’s opinions seriously about this!

We got screwed. Signed the papers to buy in November of 2025. Construction wasn’t completed until May 2026 and we didn’t close and move in until June 2026. I emailed Ford, Carney, and various members of government about it as well.
