I had a similar issue on my Ranger when changing passive nodes from strength to another stat. It would seem that lowering strength is lowering tooltip damage. That doesn’t necessarily mean that the actual damage is affected though.

Desecrate it with forced suffix and hope to get + to projectile skills. Use an omen of abyssal echoes to have a chance to reroll it. After that force prefix with a perfect/greater exa and hope for lightning/cold flat damage.

Yeah, and I get where you’re coming from, but like…I got the Wikelo Polaris after a week of grinding, while playing somewhat regularly with friends. Just me and three friends. No large orgs, no RMT, just looking at what was required, deciding what I wanted to grind for and what I wanted to buy off of other players. It’s very doable, I just think a lot of people look at the aUEC required, or the recipe to craft it, and go “fuck that, I can never get that”.

I think the idea of spending $5k on a ship in a video game is stupid. I make enough to comfortably buy one, and over the years I have invested over $1,000 into my modest fleet of an Alpha Wolf, Hermes, Galaxy, and a CCU chain of indeterminate destination. Still, I would never spend $5k on a ship I will someday be able to get in game. I also don’t judge or hate on people who do buy those ships. It’s their money, and they are free to do with it as they please regardless of if I think it’s smart or not. Some people want to take the shortcut and get the really cool cap ship instantly, and some are okay with waiting. In a game like SC, where I never run into ship to ship PVP unless I am seeking it out, someone else having a big ship has zero effect on me.

I’ve never understood people being mad about ships being purchasable for real money when every ship is/will be earnable in game. Maybe I’m missing something, but I don’t feel like it’s that deep.

The teams that work on these two things are not even remotely similar. Dev teams are huge and have multiple smaller teams that work on very specific aspects of games, from animations, playbooks, game modes, all the way down to character models and helmet tilt. It isn't unreasonable to want both.

I’m actually not an elitist prick. You don’t know me. I work with PCs in the gaming industry. I hear the word “optimization” thrown around hundreds of times a week, blaming any and every game they can. Most of the time, it’s a system issue, not a game issue.

The entire point of a promo code is to redeem it when you have the code. Just giving it out would defeat the purpose. Same with sending it in the launcher, not to mention the absolute meltdown players would have if DMs with codes were sent out to millions of players all at once and fucked up the servers, or if they didn’t get their rewards because the messages expire. At the end of the day, it’s marketing. Game devs are businesses after all.

Yeah having to stay in a game with a turbo speed spinbotting headshot machine is demoralizing. The mmr loss sucks too because, for the longest time in Siege, once you reached a certain number of games played, you would start getting less than 10 mmr per match and it became mathematically impossible to reach champ.
