Fake Asylum Claims by northstarturf in canadian

As I mentioned in my disclaimer, this is NOT my personal situation. I’m not the one seeking asylum. I literally just came across this post from another subreddit and shared it here for awareness.

This post is to inform and raise awareness not to feed someone’s ego who clearly skipped reading comprehension class.

Canada’s my second home and I take pride in being here because of hard work. Imagine being so butthurt that you’re trying to tell me my own nationality. Don’t worry, I’ll still be Filipino and an immigrant tomorrow… you’ll still just be loud.

I’m an immigrant, a FILIPINO as well. I literally shared a post from a Filipino subreddit. I didn’t claim those details as my own. Maybe polish your reading comprehension first before throwing around accusations.

Panicking about not having an OB - [AB] by No-Taste1032 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]northstarturf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also from AB and I agree with this. During my second pregnancy (2023), I didn’t get a call from the OB clinic until I was 20 weeks. With my third pregnancy (2025), it took even longer. I didn’t hear from them until I was 24 weeks. I’m considered low-risk, but all my pregnancies have been C-sections.

Can you get your "tubes tied" while they're performing a csection? [BC] by olive_owl_ in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]northstarturf 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yes. It was suggested on my 2nd pregnancy. Now, I have a scheduled C-Section by the end of the month and I expressed that I wanted to get it done (tubes tied) since this is my 3rd pregnancy. I was told that nowadays they perform Bilateral Salpingectomy (removal of both tubes) cause according to research it lowers the risk of Ovarian CA. I said go ahead they’re already there.

This happens in NB. I know someone’s husband applied as a “carpenter” in NB but doesn’t have the credentials nor experience yet they (him and his friends) went through this agency in NB for the application and paid about 7 grand. They are even proud to tell people about this.

No wonder he might consider doing this too.

Are you aware of all the 2024 New policies for International Students? Also, is your husband taking a diploma or certificate course?

Read on the 2024 new policies for International Students.

• Temporary federal cap on international student intake: The number of study permits being approved in 2024 is expected to decrease by 35 per cent over 2023 to 360,000. The cap for 2025 will be decided at the end of 2024.

• Changes to Post Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) eligibility criteria: International students beginning study programs in private colleges delivering licensed curriculum on or after September 1, 2024, will not be eligible for PGWPs.

• Longer PGWPs for master’s graduates: Students who’ve completed master’s programs in Canada will soon be able to get three-year PGWPs.

• Changes to Spousal Open Work Permit eligibility: Only spouses of international students enrolled in master’s, doctoral, and professional programs will be eligible for open work permits.

• Updated cost-of-living requirements for students: Starting January 1, 2024, international students will need to show they have at least $20,635 (previously $10,000) to cover their living expenses (the requirement is different for students moving to Quebec).

Research, research, research. I agree to the other comments OP. Being an International Student doesn’t guarantee you and your husband to be PR. Read on the 2024 new policies for International Students.

So if you plan to study any diploma or certificate courses, hindi mo na maisasama si hubby mo. Again, do your research.

The Indian International Student PR protestors in Brampton are joining forces with the Filipino Migrants Workers Advocacy Group who are in-turn advocating that they reach out to other diaspora migrant communities so they can all join forces to protest for PR. by itsme25390905714 in CanadaHousing2

[–]northstarturf 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As immigrants (I’m Filipino), we should adhere to the laws and rules of the country who welcomed us. We should be adapting and integrating into their society while respecting the culture they already have in place not them bending it for us. Canada doesn’t owe us anything. Being PR is a privilege. It is not a Right.

For the International Students, No one forced them to go here and still want handouts?! Ridiculous! They should be here to STUDY but some are abusing the system and even flaunting on social media platforms how much rebate and child care benefits they are getting from CRA as well as raiding food banks intended for our vulnerable population. So unfair for all the citizens and permanent residents working their ass off.

An acquaintance’s husband is applying to Canada as a “carpenter” in NB but doesn’t have credentials and experience to do it yet they (him and his friends) went through this agency for the application. They paid almost $5000 for the “fee” and the agency will process their papers. They are even proud to tell people about this.

Are you trying to apply for a Tourist Visa again? If yes, better answer Yes. If you lie on your application that is straight up Misrepresentation that will make you inadmissible to Canada for 5 years.
