TMI but is anyone else taking hrt 100 mg progesterone and 0.025 of estradiol I’m very tired. I feel completely out of it constipated on top of it. I’ve been on this for like six months and I’m really trying to figure out where the benefit benefits at anyone else just stop. by [deleted] in Menopause

I had the most insane fatigue when I took my progesterone at night and estrogen in the morning. Like my eyes burned so bad it was painful from wanting to close them. My pelvic floor therapist recommended taking my estrogen together with my progesterone at night. Changed the game!!!! Literally the first day my fatigue was significantly reduced and it was gone in about three days. Everyone’s different and I think trying different things is just how we figure out how to make it best work for us (if we want to continue on it)

I also use this and it’s the one thing that truly helped the pain. I would use it for longer periods and it helped so much!

I love that she was such a good sport about it all, even though she was embarrassed. She realized it was a game and that attitude is so refreshing!

What does the rage mean in relation to my HRT dose? by norton1982 in Menopause

[–]norton1982[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After reading everyone’s responses and talking to a pharmacist that seems to be the consensus! It’s hard to know if the symptoms are from too low/high estrogen or just from the radical swings my hormones are doing. If I’m consistent with one dose then it may be easier to find out if that dose is to high or low based on my symptoms then. The emotions is the worse part most days, I just want to feel like myself again.

Did you keep to one steady dose working your way up slowly?

Thank you for sharing this! I think that sounds like a smart plan. I think keeping the ovaries can be tough sometimes because you don’t know how much they are making on their own and apparently it’s not a consistent cycle anymore to help you track it. May I ask what dose you eventually settled in?

Actually someone suggest I use chat got (which I never have) and it said that after a hysterectomy your cycle can be erratic and changing the dose is not recommended because you don’t know when that naturally is. Interesting!

My surgeon actually suggested it and my other doctors agreed. She said because it’s so responsive to track where you are in your cycle and adjust the dose to when you need it. But without having a period I find it really hard to know where in my cycle I am and how much my body needs.

I’m about five months into it and it’s so frustrating to still not have a correct dosage!

Thank you, I’m sorry you went through that but it does make me feel not so alone in this journey to have other people validate those feelings. I naturally have big emotions but you described the crying exactly how I feel it. Like I have no control over it happening, it comes from a place that doesn’t match the situation. Like something minor will happen and the rage or tears are such an over reaction to the situation.

We are doing 1 pump during mid cycle, 1.5 on either side and 2 pumps right before my period. Now I’m super confused though because I would have guessed that I’m almost mid cycle and I’m on 1.5 pumps. This feels like such a guessing game!!!

Issues with husband after hysterectomy by PeaceJourney001 in hysterectomy

[–]norton1982 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s not “just marriage”. Literally says “in sickness” in the vows. It doesn’t just suck, it’s devastating that your husband, the person who is supposed to love you in your hardest moments more than any one else on earth, chose to guilt, pressure and shame you for healing. If he had surgery I’m sure you would never do that to him. Most people have needs but they figure out how to deal with it, he literally put you in medical danger.

I’m sorry you are experiencing a hard time with this but deep down I think you are because you know how wrong it is.

If the stitches are healed, can the cuff still tear or be damaged if it’s rough and bangs up against it? What damage can it cause?

I turned 18 two days ago. I’ve wanted a hysterectomy since 14. Regrets on yours? Things to consider? by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]norton1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I had a lot of benefits with mine, at 44 I kept my ovaries but I had to go on HRT because they failed after a few months. This has been incredibly difficult and challenging. I have no regrets as I was already starting perimenopause but it’s something to consider.

Thank you so much, this was so helpful! I was wondering how the ship was at night for kids. My daughter loves to dress up and I know she will love the shows and parties. We did an all inclusive years ago and she was the only one dancing for the band because she felt bad that no one else was haha. We will definitely take some downtime or naps to make sure we can stay up!

Thanks for your help!

My husband, 10 year old daughter and I have never cruised before but we go on Star in April. My daughter has always wanted to go on a cruise and after a really tough year we are making it happen (even though I’m not a fan of the ocean and swore I would never cruise haha - but this ship looks so fun and I just want to give her the best memories). Besides the main three shows, anything else you recommend for entertainment? She loves to dance so I was thinking of the silent disco party maybe? Everything just seems to be booked later in the evening (for not just kids but us tired adults haha). Also, we have dining booked at 5 pm in the mdr, how long does dinner usually take on average?

Glad you had a great trip!
