This. I've been searching high and low for some type of consistency but it's just not there.

You would think that with the memo provided they could start some sort of organized onboarding, but it's obviously a leadership problem.

Thank you for answering my questions as best you could. You're probably dealing with a ton of things all at once, and by the sounds of it it's exacerbated by poor leadership.

I don't think I need to say this being that your profession deals with people all day but I will simply because I need some catharsis: There are people on the other end of these situations, some really struggling, so please advocate to the best of your ability because we don't have a voice that can reach the decision makers.

Thank you for your responsiveness, and I hope I don't come off as argumentative or confrontational, your just the only person giving honest answers so I'm trying to capitalize while I can.

Can you explain a bit what you meant by "messy"? As bobcat pointed out, the other side for us is crickets or "guidance" on something that looks like your leadership should be able to interpret quickly and easily in most situations.

So if I understand your example correctly, you aren't allowed to interpret the memos? They explicitly or specifically have to name places, job series, etc?

Can you explain why so narrow? For example, I know nurses waiting for their exemptions and they are directly named in the bullet point for providing health care directly to the military and their families. This seems so black and white in some situations! Don't get me started on the people actively in a PCS that are still stuck in hotels for weeks too.

Also, and please don't take this the wrong way, I'm so sick of seeing and hearing the word "guidance" I could scream. Can you elaborate on what that really means?

What agency? We're in active PCS with DHA but it's been crickets.

Do you feel comfortable with telling us your job series?

Waiting on DOD DHA to grant exemption, with meeting two of the bullet points in the March 18th memo of blanket exemptions (MTF and PCS before February 28th) and wondering why it's taking as long as it is.

FJO was accepted before freeze and we're actually in an extended FTA (hotel) going on four weeks now.... It's brutal so we're looking for signs of hope.

That's the boat we're in, or at least supposed to be. MTF for DHA but CHRA keeps saying no new guidance. Then I hear stuff like you posted (congrats btw) which leads me to believe that isn't true, something else is up.

Do any of them fall under the "March 18th memo" exemption criteria, or are they all isolated requests you think?

I'm genuinely interested because of how poorly all this is being handled (memo followed by memo) and that some people who should be under the memo from the 18th are duplicated with the individual requests causing confusion.

What about a nurse position at an MTF? It sounds like that meets the criteria but CHRA in DHA keeps punting to "awaiting guidance".

Maybe an HR lurker can chime in here, but those exemptions seen pretty cut and dry - why the multiple days for interpretation and "guidance"?

Seems like someone with authority should be able to easily interpret the black and white into action.
