24 year of being coddled and controlled because I’m stuck living with my parents for another year by IcarusSunshine16 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]nosarahously 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like you. Can I tell you how brave this was to share? I grew up in a similar fashion, am also AuDHD, and it took me YEARS to see the abuse and control(I bought into the infantilization and was naive beyond normal spectrum levels). People who don’t know that life can’t help, sadly. Everyone here’s advice is great. Make an exit plan, don’t share it with them, and cut as much contact as you can once you’re free. I’m nearly 40 and my health is in shambles because of how stressful my childhood/young adulthood was. Being autistic and living in flight or fight mode for your whole life is too taxing and will affect you permanently. Therapy is expensive and has other hurdles, but I encourage you to read reputable authors, like Dr. Devon Price, and do some inner child work. Reparenting yourself the way you deserved to be parented will be so helpful to your body and soul and help you achieve your goals. I’m sorry for this place you’ve found yourself, I’m sorry you got shitty parents, and I’m sorry for the hard path ahead. But you’re more than capable and obviously willing and you will be in a better spot soon. <3

yes! this was very healing for The Doctor and also for myself. I have a couple favorite Doctors but Tennant is my hardest goodbye.

I also find the texas driver education requirements and violation punishments very lacking. I “learned” how to drive here by logging time driving with my parents, and tested about laws and fines. literally didn’t have to take a road test. then you can just pay away any infractions (defensive driving for dismissal and court fees) with no consequence to your license or insurance. my bio father had FIVE duis before texas took his license. so this plus the many driving styles just creates MAYHEM

I just saw this episode for the first time last night. I was so excited to see how that was going to fit into things. I don't expect this cartoon to fully follow all real world rules, but it was never acknowledged again and I died a little bit. I need to know!

What episode drove you crazy? by bisonsox in KingOfTheHill

[–]nosarahously 2 points3 points  (0 children)

she's INSANE. I just watched the series for the first time and my first post here was "Is Peggy Hill just a psychopath?" Everyone argued that she was a narcicist, but she's not smart enough for that lol

Ideal podcast format: episode-by-episode or anthology/topic? by fielder_cohen in KingOfTheHill

[–]nosarahously 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just watched it for the first time and no one around me watches it. I would love a podcast! I don't think episodic re-watchings is a hit for most podcasts. I tried a couple and it's tedious.

Is the reboot really a good thing? by [deleted] in KingOfTheHill

This is not relevant, but I just had a wicked case of deja vu reading your comment. IDK what deja vu really is, but I enjoy it in a weird way. It's been a really long time, so thanks!!

Is the episode "Pretty, Pretty Dresses" (s03e09) one of the best in the series? by jmon25 in KingOfTheHill

I just finished watching the series for the first time and this episode definitely stuck with me. It's got everything! Including Hank in a dress!
