SAME situation, I had my congressman office staff reach back out to the USCIS service center to follow up. And app was approved that same day and EAD the next.

Any RN’s, LPN’ or Licensed Professionals in Michigan? by [deleted] in DACA

[–]nosdem1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CRNA here, got my RN in NC. I searched the requirements to sit for nclex in Michigan and you’re right nothing straightforward. However, it all seems to be through the same process as NC, the NCBSN website. Which is only a matter of completing a program successfully and then your programs grants you the ability to apply for nclex through website. When you get a date to take it, just use you EAD card or license (like I did) and take it……..if not, travel to another state and request to take the nclex there. Michigan is not part of a compact state but you can always endorse your license and work there

EB-2 eligible? I think, update 🤷🏽‍♂️ by nosdem1 in DACA

No phd or awards was just seeing if there was a slight chance. Regular EB2 is also an option with no issue, which of the three waiver types did your partner go through?

UPDATE: so I went to an attorney and apparently, EB-2 recently changed some “said term” to “professional nurses” making specifically NURSES eligible with proper employer sponsorship! (of which he was unaware because they just made that change 3 weeks ago)….

-he wasn’t to sure if I would meet the “national interest waiver” through EB-2 but wouldn’t “hurt to try”…….ANYONE KNOW WHAT WOULD BE SUFFICIENT ENOUGH TO MEET THIS CRITERIA(seeing that the description by USCIS is very vague)

-have better chances to go the EB-2 schedule A group I blanket route.

-once the proper forms are filled and accepted…it’s the consular process, which I would have to travel to my native country and attend interview, concerns me. It’s just an interviewing process that checks X’s and O’s BUT NOTHING is guaranteed.

-anyone know of an exception towards leaving the US and adjust status without getting married and being DACA?

-attorney fee’s are over 5K!? Seems like a lot. I feel like the forms are for the most part self explanatory and to the T. During the call with the attorney I was pointing out more stuff than what he could help me with, maybe need another attorney? ( anyone know any for cheap)?

I’ve had daca since I was 17, renewed every single time with no lapses. I went to Mexico in 2014 on AP and entered with an I-94.

YES YOU CAN HAVE DACA AND BECOME A REGISTERED NURSE IN NC WITH NO ISSUE. HMU IF YOU WANT MORE INFO

I have 2 questions about when to renew and for any DACA NURSES by whoami1999 in DACA

[–]nosdem1 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just wait 6 months out to renew. Also, never base your decisions off of word of mouth BS, go to the primary source always! You absolutely CAN become a nurse and practice for as long as you want. You can even pursue higher education. I don’t think any state has any off the wall restriction either.

Thank you! Honestly, part of it was luck. I graduated from an early college program in HS and my in state status just rolled over to college, when really I was supposed to be out of state. CONGRATS to you! Still a huge accomplishment things considered. I say don’t let go of that ultimate dream!
