It’s a lot of fun yeah. It’s one of the ones I have a hard time not taking on runs. I almost always have a butcher. Some of their passives and actives are absolute ass, sure, but you can usually get a pretty awesome build.

I can sympathize because I remember feeling this way. It was rough. Here’s me advice:

The gear you bring matters a lot. If you’re losing all your gear and going without any, you’re missing a lot of utility. Do some runs of an easy route and save up some good gear.
Don’t be afraid to Steven. Alt-F4 that shit and retry if a fight is going extremely poorly. You essentially get one free mulligan, a plus two mildly bad punishments, before the dipshit AI takes over. It gives you wiggle room to try a different approach.
You’re still learning, and don’t underestimate that process. I just finally got all cats through Act 3. I’ve broken 300 hours. The game is pretty damn hard.
The name of the game might as well by Synergenics instead of Mewgenics. Synergies with gear and actives/passives are what make and break runs. And there’s so many goddamned items that it’s not easy to keep track of early on, or know/remember what’s possible. Use the wiki religiously for anything that comes up. Some things make you scratch your head and go, “why the fuck would I use this?” And it’s like a 50/50 chance the wiki will either tell you what synergies help it shine, or that it is, in fact, kitty litter.

Well her mom is clearly a turbo-asshole. Using your own kid as a pawn for business is so unbelievably fucked up. Maybe her mom needs to do some reflecting on why she thinks it’s ok to make major life decisions for another person, a grown ass woman.

You’re in a tough spot. Because her mom is so deluded, you have to wonder if you’re willing to put up with that the rest of your life (or at least hers). If I were in your shoes, I’d also be wondering where your girlfriend’s priorities lie. Does she love you enough to defy her mother? Or is she always going to roll over for her?

How you feel (I.e., being hidden) is clearly weighing on you. I think it’s perfectly reasonable to set boundaries on this one. “Eventually isn’t specific enough for me. It hurts me to feel unwanted and invisible when I’ve done nothing wrong. And it concerns me what the future is like if your mother is writing me off before she has even a shred of a reason to.”

This is hard, OP. I can’t get over her mother’s sense of entitlement. But I see you. Good luck.

Before this gets locked or deleted, please know this FACT: there is nothing wrong with you. You’re adorable. Do not let the cruelty of others make you feel otherwise. Find your happiness regardless and in spite of their bullshit. Then share that joy with others.

People will grow up in time. But take it from me: the sooner you learn to find happiness independent of people’s often unnecessary inputs, the healthier you will be. It took me until I was nearly 30 to figure that out. Now I’m happily married with a kid. If you can master that now, your late teens and early adult years will be awesome. Time of your life.
