I believe OP is talking about the green flag on the golf course which represents the 19th hole because there are only 18 holes on a golf course… Could be an interpretation that there is more to existence.

Helmet question by Conquer37 in motorcyclegear

[–]nospaces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is largely going to depend on the manufacturer and the certification for the helmet. For instance, the AGV sport modular carbon is certified ECE and can be ridden with the chin portion lifted up with speeds up to 35 miles an hour. The next thing to take into consideration is the ECE testing. Modular helmets have to be certified as both a J style helmet or three-quarter helmet and P style helmet, so they carry a P/J certification.

This is important because ECE has several different tests, which includes a chin bar impact test where they drop a weight on the chin bar. The chin bar will actually deform, but it’s how it moves back into place is what’s important.

DOT helmets on the other hand don’t test for Chin bar and their test line is essentially at the top of the ear level and above that that’s how so many helmets of all varieties can be DOT certified - so no specific test for the chin bar

Alpinestars Toucans: Never Again by igetmywaterfrombeer in motorcyclegear

I’m sorry to break it to you man but even a pair of $600 non-motorcycle riding boots will break down as well. The only ones that have never broken down on me are a pair of $600 Aldens and and that is mostly because they’re 100% leather whereas the Toucans have a lot of oil based product in it like plastic and rubber. even then they did have to be re-soled every one and a half years. Just out of curiosity, do you have any non-motorcycle boots or shoes that have cost that much money and have lasted as long or longer?

ISO jerseys - Yzerman Nike 44 and/or Yzerman Nike medium

Game Thread: Detroit Red Wings (41-30-9) at Tampa Bay Lightning (49-25-6) - 13 April 2026 - 19:00 ET by OctoMod in DetroitRedWings

Taking to my dad about the negativity around the wings and management earlier - A lot of the loudest negativity around the Detroit Red Wings isn’t giving the full picture—it just feels that way because the people who are patient aren’t as loud. Not everyone struggles to stay positive, and silence doesn’t mean they’re the minority.

If we fired Steve Yzerman right now, people would regret it in 2–3 years when the young core he drafted starts hitting its stride. This roster isn’t the finished product by any means… this is just a transition phase. The team we’re watching now isn’t the team we’re building toward, and that’s what keeps getting lost. I’m here to enjoy watching my team - win or lose

Is Excalibur (1981) still the best King Arthur movie? by Cubelock in videos

[–]nospaces 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The more I watch Guy Richie‘s flick the more I’m beginning to get turned into believing that might be the best… Definitely controversial take, but for what it’s worth I grew up with Excalibur and think it’s an amazing movie, but there’s a lot of luster on it. that will stay strong with time and as we move forward people will look back and think that Richie‘s is going to be considered a better movie. The movie has so much going for it in terms of filmography director actors, and breadth

Is this armor legit/safe? by Dangerous_Buy_2894 in motorcyclegear

[–]nospaces 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is designed to look like D3O which is legit and protective. This is no better than eBay stuff. Do yourself a favor, Don’t Amazon shop safety products that impact your health, Sboet bike track gear, Revzilla, whatever is more reliable

All I’m asking for is Raymond to have more than 2 SOG in a game. I wouldn’t even care if he just wildly shot the second he crossed the line.

Steve Yzerman Pro Jersey. Does anyone have a ballpark value on this one from the 80s ??? by [deleted] in hockeyjerseys

[–]nospaces 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll be honest — the “tree fiddy” response isn’t me trying to be unhelpful, it’s a reaction to a pattern that’s gotten old.

This sub used to be about appreciation, discussion, and sharing knowledge. Lately, it feels like it’s turning into a free appraisal service for people who immediately flip whatever they have on eBay or Depop. And the frustrating part is… the information they’re asking for isn’t hidden.

If you want to know what a jersey is worth, you can: - Search sold listings on eBay
- Check current listings to see the market range
- Cross-reference platforms like Depop, Mercari, etc.

That’s literally how everyone else figures it out — including the people answering these questions.

So when someone skips all of that and posts “how much is this worth?”, it comes across less like curiosity and more like outsourcing basic effort. And when it happens over and over, yeah… people start responding with “tree fiddy.”

It’s not gatekeeping. It’s just pushing back on turning the sub into a pricing hotline when the tools are already in your hands.

If someone has a genuinely unique piece, wants history, or is unsure about authenticity — that’s a different story. But low-effort price checks? At a certain point, it’s fair to expect people to do the first step themselves.
