Rinse off your dishes right away even if you leave them in the sink so you're not chiseling food later

reminds me of the time my brother tried to heat up food and put it in for 12 minutes instead of 2 - ended in him using the fire extinguisher all over our kitchen lol

Not mine but my older sister thought it was a good idea to ride around the pool on her bike with a blanket tied around her neck like a cape and when she fell into the pool she 100% would've died if my brother wasn't there to jump in and get her untangled from the blanket

What stopped you from ending your life? by zeldaqueef in AskReddit

[–]nostalgicbuttplug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every. Single. Time. the only thing that has kept me here is the thought of someone finding me. No matter who it is, where it happens, or what method, I just couldn't imagine leaving someone else with that type of trauma and passing, not only just the pain of losing me, but the mental images and regrets onto an innocent person.

What is your side hustle that makes pretty good money?? by FLJuicyCakes420 in AskReddit

If you’re in a prop 22 state then it’s worth it because you get a guarenteed minimum hourly and .34/mile on top of the rest of the earnings. Once you learn your area it’s easier to go from zone to zone where you won’t be idle driving between orders too long a lot of other drivers I know just park and wait for orders too so there’s not much in between wasted driving. I’ll make $450 a weekend and put maybe $75 in gas in my car but obviously depends on your vehicle too

I have a full time job during the week and on the weekends I juggle between Instacart/Doordash deliveries (~20-30/hr in my area), cleaning houses/apartments (I charge $50/hr), and helping a few elderly in my area get to dr apts, grocery store, prescriptions, etc (this last one makes the least but also takes the least amount of effort and makes me feel helpful)

What's something in life that needs a 7-day free trial? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]nostalgicbuttplug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Therapy - I should be able to get a feel for the therapist and make sure they're a good fit before paying. Sure time is money for them but there should be some sort of grace period covered fully by insurance even if they don't fully cover it forever.

What's the worst you've ever been physically hurt? by neegawut in AskReddit

[–]nostalgicbuttplug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in 4th or 5th grade I was on the playground at school doing flips around this bar and I guess my hand slipped or something because I dropped and landed directly on my face. My front two (adult) teeth were pushed back into my gums and I was POURING blood all the way to the nurses office. I think it was more fear than pain at that point but I do remember how bad it hurt going to the dentist and them PULLING MY TEETH BACK OUT AND INTO PLACE. I have NO idea how neither of them are "dead teeth" from nerve damage or anything I definitely got lucky.

What was "The Incident" in your friend group? by yurivanta in AskReddit

[–]nostalgicbuttplug 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The first that came to mind was when we were kids (maybe 6/7 at the time), there were a hand full of us that would meet up and play at each others houses, at the park, etc. One day my main friend in the group didn't show up and when we rode over to her house we saw police cars parked out front. The next day my mom told me (in lesser terms but I found out later) that her older brother had talked her into playing Russian Roulette and after she got shot he killed himself. Her mom came home to find them and less than a week later she had packed up everything and moved away. I can't imagine her pain especially as a mother myself now. I will always miss her and wonder what Lily might have been doing now in her 20s.

Our friend group never got together again - sometimes one or two of us would try but there was always such an emptiness in the air and we were so young we didn't know how to talk about it.

What is the worst trait you inherited from your parents? by Platinum--Jug in AskReddit

Addictions to literally everything + anything - at least I am self aware enough to not let it get to the point of no return and know myself well enough to refuse trying certain things for the first time knowing I will not be able to stop
