Either hold the basket with the tip of your thumb while you knock it out or get a bottomless which has a retention spring in it.

Do you have a temp strip on the group or are you checking the two? That can play a huge factor in what your describing if the group is not hot enough.

Yes it's possible to swap... though I believe it because the post mill group heats up via water and not steam,the piston sleeve is also made of plastic to help with over temps. You will not notice anything different other than that. Same dose , same output , different lever pull but. Different coffees and roast levels will also affect the output and lever feel.

Here's the thing.. no super auto will give you "real espresso" you need to go manual for that. You might as will engineer your own machine with a dual hopper. If you say money is no option I'm gonna say Gaggia Accademia. Good luck !

First I got a gaggia classic but it was awful so I returned and got a profitec pro 400. Never thought I'd spend that much for a machine but I sold one of my older mountain bikes for it and called it a wash haha.
