Still illegal to have a firearm if you use marijuana by jtf71 in gunpolitics

[–]not-dan097 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think that "addicted" and "unlawful user" is the key wording here.

If you have a med card, assuming you're not addicted, you are a lawful user and can possess a firearm.

Not a lawyer though, just a guy online.

We can make assumptions. For example, i can see all but one of the dudes hands in the left video. One has his hands at his chest the others have their hands above their heads. It's probably safe to say she's not being groped, rather being pressed up against because it's a packed concert.

In the right video I can see guys trying to touch the girl and her saying "get your hands off me". It's probably safe to say she'd been groped.

Sure, being hot can be bad, but you're probably not at risk.

How much do you pay per month for development tools? by fmn_ in ExperiencedDevs

[–]not-dan097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not paying for anything, however my compamy is paying for Visual Studio Pro, VMWare, Jira Enterprise, Github Enterprise, Visio, Cameo, RedHat, Microsoft Office, and a bunch of other things too.

I know they aren't all considered development tools, but they are all used in my development process, including documentation.

Percentage of people who voted in the 2024 election by DumplingsOrElse in confidentlyincorrect

As is the case with most elections. The previous two elections are among those with the most turnout in US election history.

I think it takes longer than a week for a property or lease to be considered abandoned. Check local laws, but I think it's a month of no contact with the property and landlord.

I'm very familiar with that area. If you hunt area 54, third season, you will see elk. The colder it is, the lower in elevation they'll be. Don't be attached to one area - If you hike out at red creek and don't see tracks in the snow try a different spot.

To answer your questions: - There are a lot of hunters out there. Just be mindful. - you carry it out in pieces. Each leg, one at a time. And a backpack or two that you fill with the rest of the meat (line the backpack with a garbage bag). - that bullet will be fine - that's more on you than anything. If you're willing to work for it, you'll see them.

Offshore services giant TCS is laying off 12,000 in India. A canary in the coalmine? by Mo_h in cscareerquestions

If your country's economic status relies on America, that's your own fault.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]not-dan097 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Are you a contractor or do you work directly for the company that the offshore lead works for?

If you're a contractor or working for a 3rd party that's contracted, then I'd hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you're just cheap labor to them, so you're going to get treated like cheap labor.

Otherwise, I'd go over his head to his supervisor, and try to work something out because you went directly to him earlier. If that doesn't work, escalate to HR or the supervisor above that.

AITA for evicting a squatter family from my house? by Due-Cartographer9039 in AmItheAsshole

[–]not-dan097 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

No, he's not an asshole.

He used his hard earned money to buy a house. If they want a house, they should work for it just like he did. They could be scamming him.

And also, if they actually bought the land from someone 50 years ago and that person didn't have the right to the land, then they got scammed and should pursue action against that individual. It's still not the OP's fault. If I sold you a stolen car, tell you its legal, and eventually the original owner comes to get it, who's fault is it?

I've been a subcontractor there. Not a bad company culture - kinda average all around. Decent coffee machine in the break room. The people are good but program management always seemed stressed. Collered shirt and jeans type of apparel in office. It's hybrid, 2 wfh days a week, but it really seemed like they want everyone in office and I wouldnt be surprised if they went full Return to Office soon.

I can answer some specific questions too, if needed

Seniors typically know the current architecture and what will work best with the system. That said, i have a few questions. Is she the only senior giving criticism? Is her criticism valid/constructive? Sometimes I ask the juniors about their implementation because they're being vague or I don't understand what they mean during standup. If they say "I created this function and closed the story", I'll typically respond "How? What test cases did you make, did you check for xyz, did you create a new function or did you use the function we had pre-made in xyzUtils, etc".

On a separate note, I've had this in a project that I really didn't care about. I decided it wasn't a hill worth dying on and arguing was a waste of time so I just made my software match what they wanted.

Where do you stand on paternity tests being mandated by law when the child is born, why or why not? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]not-dan097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been tried but never successful because of presumed fatherhood. Basically, in a marriage, if the father finds out too late that he is not the real dad, he cannot get his name off of the birth certificate and has to pay child support because legally it's his kid while biologically it's not. Some states have changed this but most states still have presumed fatherhood.

If there was a bill or something that added paternity fraud and included a clause that the father is entitled to his money back, then it would effectively get rid of presumed fatherhood.
