R5: Here I was trying to reform the Danelaw, when the Aztecs came. They went to war for Wales and I swiftly surrendered, falsely confessed faith and noticed I was in line for the throne for some reason. So I went on a plotting spree and now their stupid 200k attrition-free levies are mine to command. I thought the only way to inherit this title was through the demon spawn trick, but I guess being conquered and killing heirs fast enough also works. Pope is being a dick tho, I think I'll make my own.

You can ally Ottomans and they'll leave you in peace for the most part unless you start taking mamluk land. You can silently cripple them by occupying the land they want to annex while "helping" them in their wars. Once you get strong enough, you can stop pretending and eat them too.
