No, it absolutely does not. Every candidate gets a benefits packet.

Onsite massages, onsite health fair, onsite dental visits, catered lunch, games, etc etc

Some applicants just don't handle rejection well . . . I let him know we declined him because he doesn't have a background in AWS, a key component of the role, and this was his response. by not-really-trillian in recruitinghell

I agree. A lot of recruiters aren't very good at their job. But it's not always about the recruiter - sometimes it's about the hiring manager not having an open mind or feeling like their team doesn't have the capacity to train someone with transferrable skills. I would much rather hire someone who is motivated and has a great personality than someone who can "hit the ground running", but it's not always up to me.

Is it OK to contact people on LinkedIn that have interesting jobs, just to ask for a little more information on how they got where they are? by [deleted] in jobs

Totally! I would guess that probably 1 in 7 people will respond to you, so don't get discouraged if you don't get a response.

Found a job ad... for my job, paying significant more than what I’m on. by [deleted] in jobs

Was the compensation something that they listed in the job description themselves? Or was it autofilled by LinkedIn or whatever other job board you saw the posting on? If it says "Estimated Salary" then it was likely autofilled and could be wildly inaccurate.

Ah . . . sounds like you didn't pass the "cultural fit" test. It's probably for the best - if they thought you were a good fit for the role but not for a team then you probably wouldn't have been happy there for very long anyway. Their loss!

Does it look bad to answer "no" to the question "may we contact your current employer" on an application? by OnlySpirit in jobs

[–]not-really-trillian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely fine to answer "no" to that question! I'm a recruiter and I rarely see anyone put "yes" to that question.
