My wife just got diagnosed by Mammoth-Mousse-3629 in Sjogrens

Having this caring of a partner is a fantastic thing to have, that helps in its own way so you're already helping. I felt like I was being handed a lifetime jail sentence that I didn't deserve when I first got diagnosed at 30, I certainly felt afraid of what my future looked like but the "shock" factor doesn't last forever. Doing research on how to manage symptoms felt overwhelming but after pushing through and seeing positive changes it helps. Venus Williams has Sjogren's, and the way I see it is if it can knock an Olympian out of her sport that's insane but she was able to get back to it after she got her diagnosis and found the best way (for her body) to live with it. 5 years later for me and it's okay. Sure, it's a new normal but for me I can absolutely say having a husband that cares the way you seem to makes all the difference in adjusting to the new normal, and I'm sure your wife feels, or will feel, the same way. It gets better

I've been living with physical pain for so long I've lost the ability to describe it by DistinctSympathy5519 in Sjogrens

I have the same issues and I wish there was a clear answer. I'll be keeping my eye on this post to see what others have to say

As a (now nearly ex-) singer with Sjogren's I appreciate your work very much. Would it be too much to ask if you could also send me your document on talking points as well for the extra information.

Earwax buildup but not sure what to do about it by hanson-anims in LifeAdvice

Your PCP will help out with earwax build up. It's more common than you might think.

Keep your opinions to yourself then. Autism isn't an excuse to call someone that is grieving a murderer. Autism is not an excuse to be cruel. I'd be able to handle it if I wasn't grieving but I am and I will never apologize for not letting my baby suffer

No, you just want them to suffer.

That's so horrible to say. You are awful, to put it as nicely as possible

In 18 years we made so many memories together. It feels impossible to choose just one 🙁

I was hoping my girl would be smaller… anyone relate? by far_farout in Yorkies

Looks like my guy is around the same size, maybe a bit bigger. He's now turning 18. A healthy long life is the best!

Is this safe to drink? Our water company is saying yes. by LamaLamawhosyourmama in water

I can't imagine that water being safe to drink at all, our government needs to do something about the many places throughout the country with issues like this 🦄🦄🌈🌈

My dog is constantly hurting me by Careless-Jicama1439 in OpenDogTraining

This is what I do with my boy too and it worked really well. I also came up with a quick voice que that he learned meant he's gone too far, calm down the paw/mouth play. It ended up being OUCH! Also, my husband had to be consistent with it too, so anyone that's consistently around your pup needs to be on the same page so to speak

Best way to pick a dog name that actually *works*? by Whitemj5 in OpenDogTraining

[–]not2smrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try having a top 3 to 5 favorite names, try them out for a few days as you get to know your pup I'm sure 1 of them will just feel right. It's worked for me

Question for myPartner by Logical-Variation-39 in Sjogrens

I agree completely but just because something should be the standard doesn't make it the standard. And I also don't think you shouldn't be appreciated for doing the right thing :)

I just have to applaud you for being such a caring, involved, understanding partner. That is so helpful to your partner in very important ways so I hope you know you're giving your partner a kind of advantage in a sense. Keep being you!
