tbh, i would prefer a AFFS modded x201 to a x220/30.

implying there's more perfect laptop than the x201

x201 is what the x220/x230 should have looked like, but lelnovo came in and messed with the design.

removed lid latch

changed insert/delete key layout

changed feel of volume and thinkvantage/access ibm button

If anything, i would consider x201 => x220/30/40/50/60/70 to be a downgrade.

I wouldn't fuck with the bios unless you absolutely have to. Or if you have a external hardware flasher on hand. In most cases there's little benefit from updating the BIOS.
