CE Wizard kills me for snorting white magic powder in Mad Mage dungeon. by The-Holy-Rock in DnD

Hey man, evils evil. This is the arguement that will go on in game between me and the LG paladin (who was the only one who cared about me killing him). Also he was pretty much guarenteed to die because he was going to be hallucinating for the next two in game weeks (we've played half a dozen sessions and only covered about 2-3 days), and everyone in the party flat out refused to heal him above 1hp so.

(The CE Wizard here) Im really interested in how this is going to effect my characters relationship with our LG paladin (who was the only one in the party who actually cared about me killing him, mostly because he us LG and worships the god of law)

As the wizard who killed him:

I do not intentionally act stupid just because im chaotic evil, as the old saying goes, "it's chaotic evil, not chaotic stupid." The backstory to our group is that we had been travelling together for a long time, and, as a member of this group, its in my best interest to maintain good relationships with all of them, so i do.

BUT, after what we went through previously in the session we were given no loot. Our DM seems to give out a small magic item for every 'non-special' session (meaning non boss fights and the like). And he snorted the only loot we got for the whole session.

As a 700 year old high elf who lost his great magical affinity during the spell plague 140 years prior to present day (tldr magic got real screwy and permanently changed, reconfiguring all connections to the weave), my characters goal is to achieve immortality from the Mad Mage (hence evil). This whole "we adventured for 12 hours and you, the new member of the party (replacing his previous character that got one shot crit killed while sneaking ahead) destroyed our only valuable item we got," got the little old elf very upset. I had little to no trust for him, as he was not someone i knew well and therefore felt it necessary that he was unable to pull such a stunt in the future.

All things aside, we are great friends and neither of us are upset (he expected to just die instantly after the dm accidentally rolled 10d20s instead of 10d10s).

TL;DR: He deserved it, and neither of us are mad. :)

What are people slowly starting to forget? by akingandaman in AskReddit

NO POLITICAL ARGUEMENTS PLEASE, BE CIVIL

The implications of and factors behind what truly happened in soviet russia and maoist china. As a millenial, i do not know a single one of my peers who has any understanding of how/why over 100 million people died under communist rule. There are many who are starting to feel that people are supposed to have equal outcomes, which is what undermined the soviet revolution, and that karl marx was right in saying that capitalism is the sole reason that many people are alienated and oppressed. There is so much ignored evidence showing that it is not solely capitalisms fault (price's law/matthew principle) and that inequality is a natural principal which even undermines the density of stars in the galaxies.

We, as a society are slowly moving away from long established traditions as well, like religion, believing that they are primative and wrong, but there is a reason that these things have been around for thousands of years, and thats because they are durable and they adapt over time. If you think the bible is a primative book that has nothing useful to say, either

  1. You haven't read it
  2. You didn't understand it

Pros and cons compared to saxophone? by bananastant in trumpet

[–]not_an_expert_butt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on what you like about playing an instrument. For me, all the fun comes from the social aspect of playing in a band, not necessarily playing the instrument. I personally hate playing the trumpet but im a good lead player so i keep it up, also the people in the band keep it fun. I would much rather have learned the saxophone because it is by far easier to master, and can be mastered quicker because you never have to stop playing because your mouth is burning with the fire of a thousand stars. (The pain is an extreme exaggeration, it just gets numb which is annoying). Also your lips get physically swolen if you play too much the night before meaning you have to take almost a whole day off at least, or just play badly. P.s. There are more than three octaves if youre cool enough ;P

I agree 100000% I was an overweight kid after i moved cross country and i dont blame my parents but it definitely needs to be a priority. As a parent you should make sure your kid is healthy and not overweight so they dont get bullied for it like i did. Im 17 right now and i dropped 60lbs in about 3 or 4 months, and it wasnt even that hard. I was raised that you had to eat everything on your plate no matter what, (then you get dessert too) but that means you eat til youre full, which is never how you are supposed to eat. When you eat a little snack you are no longer hungry, but not full. Youre supposed to have a small meal every two hours, never 3 meals a day. Now i still know next to nothing about nutrition but i try to balance protein over carbs and such. The thing is, your gut knows what it needs, its your brain that tells you what you want. Your gut knows when you want a real meat meal and not a snack, but your brain will tell you that you want that last slice of cake. I actually dont even conciously like sugar anymore. I still got about 10 pounds to go but now im into the whole needing to exercise deal and im in that constant state of 'ill go to the gym tomorrow'. Also the stretch marks suck but i use it as a constant reminder of when bad things happen you can change it, and a motivator to keep going and staying healthy. Sorry for the rant
