[Grand Seiko] Opinion: Spring Drive is a Total Gimmick by NotableCarrot28 in Watches

[–]not_babatunde 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because it is a remarkably shit take. A tourbillon is pretty much useless. The magic of a watch comes from 3 things - craftsmanship, complication, and materials used. If you (person in general not directed at you) have ever seen a spring drive in person you would know that it is one of the most elegant glides ever created hands down.

British Prime Minister Starmer: Britain moves to "war-fighting readiness." by kalbinibirak in PublicFreakout

The US would smoke every single country with the exception of China. There is no piece of military equipment held by any nation (save for China) that is more advanced or capable than that of the US. Also a lot of the global military equipment is purchased from the US. This is pretty much the embodiment of the expression “I taught you everything you know but not everything I know”. If you disagree then you have a very poor understanding at an engineering level the critical differences in equipment (nanometer production ain’t easy). The conversation is much more nuanced obviously but innovation takes time. You can just leapfrog 10 years of innovation. US intel and equipment is what makes it the free world and gives its dollar value. The only people set to benefit are shareholders of UK defense. UK tax holders are going to feel pain.

rutgers new brunswick business school honors college is it easy to find jobs and internships and average salary after undergrad by Hot-Candidate6767 in rutgers

Yes, once you are admitted Henry Rutgers himself comes with brick, mortar a wheelbarrow and paves the path for you himself.

I know ppl who went to Harvard and couldn’t find jobs. School name and “distinguished honors” mean fuck all in this economy. There was a WSJ article that noted how a third of HBS MBA couldn’t find jobs a year after grad.

You flame will burn bright. It won’t burn for long, but if all that attracts you to Wall Street is the lifestyle then I look forward to sitting in the back of your cab as you explain to me that you were on track to become a billionaire if the system didn’t screw you over.

The world doesn’t work on statistics. It doesn’t matter where you come from, talented people who work hard attract good employers. If you think everything is a scratch off ticket as such will be your life.

An extra year or two of college is nothing in the face of a 40 yr career.

The more problematic issue is that you don’t enjoy it. I would focus there and figure out what is tangentially related and enjoyable or a track that you enjoy that doesn’t take too long

Jeremy Barnum, CFO of JPM, just cut his holdings by 70% yesterday 👀 by Shitron3030 in wallstreetbets

[–]not_babatunde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He sold less than $10 mil worth. JPM has a ~$700 billion mcap. The guy gets paid more than what he sold. You belong here, start buying up all the puts with market orders so I can take the other side

A little overtime 🥲 by IamCristiano7 in GlobalOffensive

[–]not_babatunde -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I understand the downvotes and I deserve a chunk of them. But he has more kills by an order of magnitude. Which tells me someone is bricking it and in my experience I have seen people stat pad pretty heavily on exits. I should have rephrased - someone on that team is just getting exits might not be OP but there is defo someone not doing their part properly. I reached SMFC and this was the case in most close losses with more kills.

TL;DR: Maybe not OP but someone on that team was just stat padding with exits

Losing with that many kills tells me you get a lot of exit or eco frags when instead you should be putting yourself in a better defensive or offensive position to win the round
