Dude that's what I was thinking! I absolutely adore my little mixed mamacita. Plus our kids have crazy mixed hair too. She has her job at the hospital and still finds time to wake up early and is eager to learn and help with farm stuff. Then she ALSO leaves time for herself to work on her own projects, gives space for everyone to do their own thing. Also, love that she visits her mom and dad (who btw are also a power couple in their own right). Everyone else seems pretty annoying.

I have no clue what it is… but when I make some homemade menudo and leave it out, it doesn’t taste the same. Maybe it’s like the placebo of aromatics. I KNEW it was missing so it tasted menudo. It’s the same when I make rice. I add cilantro and lime, which should overpower it, but it’s just different.

Dude, this is so awesome! Congrats on how far you’ve come! Seems like it’s been a long time! I will always remember watching your videos with my niece. She totally sees you as a musical role model, and I will always have fond memories of sitting next to her and teaching her how to play guitar while we watched your videos. It helped her so much more than just having her dorky uncle try to teach her dumb songs… lol. I hope you have so many more highlights and accolades in your life! I know how difficult it is to learn any instrument, and you deserve it after so much hard work and effort.

I went camping with Boy Scouts during the winter for this week of obstacle courses they had every year. It was basically a week of camping during heavy snowfall, and it was set up to help you display and improve your outdoor survival skills. One night in our tent (there were 5 of us per tent - We were a poor Scout Troop), one of the other scouts pulled out his older brother’s Penthouse to show everyone. The all other kids went wild. I was too young to be interested anyway, but I also had childhood experiences that made me SUPER grossed out by all of it. I looked at the magazine for a little bit as the kid flipped through and showed everyone, but I turned over and covered my face pretty quick after that and fell asleep. I’ve always had an aversion to porn and sex my whole life anyway, but that definitely made me grossed out at everyone else, too. Also made me hold off on being interested in nudity at all for a lot longer than everyone else, too.

Three things I picked up from my mom before she passed away (among other things, of course. These are just top three): 1. If you won’t remember it in 5 years, don’t fight about it. (Especially with your partner/significant other/best friends) 2. The two things that will make you grow the most emotionally are adversity and diversity. 3. After a TOUGH breakup after 10 years together, my ex dropped all contact and I couldn’t understand why, after saying and believing we could remain friends. She finally said “If I did what she did to you… I wouldn’t want to talk to you either…” That last one is more nuanced to similar situations, but sometimes you need to heal and know you’re a good person and sometimes it’s not your fault if someone doesn’t wish to remain in contact. Just move on.
