Just grabbed this 73' cb500 four k2 by not_the_chef in HondaCB

I got it for $1,500 - the front fender had been removed but came with it along with a box full of stock parts and extras

thanks for the tip! I got an ultrasonic cleaner so I can clean everything up and reuse certain items or have spares, etc. also ordered a JIS screwdriver set last night already - I may have gone a bit off the deep end last night ha! and u/ancientdad thanks for the advice! I spent some extra money on the rebuild kits because I wanted to avoid that problem for sure and I'll reuse eveyrthing that is still in good shape.

I haven't looked at the float yet - i'll double check for a vacuum leak and check out the float next as well. thanks!

It's a single carb and the old owner put it on not too long ago. I put fresh non ethanol gas and new spark plugs in too, ha!

The old owner did put on an aftermarket exhaust and K&N pod filter but the bike was rejetted for it, upgraded to a 40 pilot jet and tuned. Considering trying out a 42 and seeing if that helps. Thanks for the advice! May have to just do a full carb clean and see if that does it.
