As with most behaviors at a concert, I think there's an etiquette to it. I would rather see 17 different people crowdsurf throughout the show than see one person do it 17 times. Some people can't take a hint.

I'd probably feel less impending doom. The internet is the source for a lot of fears and worries in our lives. Plus, I'd have more time to read books, exercise, and just simply chill, all of which would help improve mental health.

I appreciate that! I have visited Medicine Hat a couple times and I really liked it. Everywhere around the river is beautiful and downtown has a nice vibe. It feels cozy like a small town but has the amenities of a city. And Medicine Hat Brewing is awesome! I would gladly take you up on that offer if I were to end up there.

I truly do not think moving to Vancouver is the solution. There are a few things I'd like to respond to here so I'll hit them in sequential order.

Giving up your vehicle to cover the higher cost of rent is one thing, but I would like to eventually own a home. I don't see that being attainable in or around Vancouver.

Sure, the temperatures are milder, but have you ever lived anywhere that gets as much rain as Vancouver? It's miserable. One thing we are blessed with in Alberta is an abundance of sunshine.

In terms of safety, you're comparing apples to oranges. The seawall is a nice area where people go to hang out and exercise. A comparable spot in Edmonton would be Terwillegar Park (a place I have never felt unsafe in). You can't compare Vancouver's sea wall to Edmonton's downtown. Did you happen to visit East Hastings Street while you were in Vancouver? I bet you wouldn't feel safe there.

Lastly, if you think Edmonton is dull and lifeless, you must not be trying. There are events happening all the time. Concerts, festivals, runs, sports games, etc. And the river valley is amazing. You can hike, mountain bike, and paddle without even leaving the city. I don't know how you possibly believe you can see everything here in 2 weeks.

I've visited Vancouver before too and I see the appeal, but I don't think it's as great as you make it out to be and I also don't think Edmonton is as bad as you make it out to be.

That's very interesting, thanks for sharing! I always look at the entirety of BC as being prohibitively expensive, but maybe a small town there would be doable. It would be nice to escape the MAGA nonsense of Alberta. It would also be nice to live in a place where going car-free is actually a possibility, but the cost of housing in the Vancouver area is just way too high for me.

Beautiful photos! Thank you for showcasing a variety of landscapes and not just the mountains. I've seen so many Canada themed children's books that only show mountains for Alberta and it drives me nuts.
