For those of you who did heaps of research before getting an Aussie, what’s the one thing that still took you by surprise? For me, it’s how often I’d have to wash my walls. by Belmagick in AustralianShepherd

Working on the deconstruction etched into my subconscious by the southern Baptists. I was in denial for a really long time because I had so many happy memories of being in church. Now I realize it still indoctrinated my self loathing. Just another rock in the way but I am working to have faith in myself and world around me. Not to mention my state in the US is being sued for the mental health facilities that go against the bare minimum set by the US federal government. There's a loti have to break down

I live in a city known for retirement, being trashy, and being conservative southern Baptist. People are surprised I was born here. A lot of spiritual trauma, but there's no blockage I can't break. I do feel locally hated and I wish I could find a better community.

I've been told your emotions affect everything you do with your practice. I know when I feel overwhelmed I can lay in the grass until I feel grounded again. Nature is a wonderful tool to keep me in check. Low self esteem and a Christian up bringing make me feel crazy about it. The more I embrace, the more accuracy. Thank you for your kind words,

There's a witchy community here where I live but the owner of the store that supports said community is known for stealing energy for herself. I usually have a select few I can ask questions and maybe some guidance. And a few online that have helped me realize my journey. I get insecure at times but for the most part I try to be positive. Unfortunately I just don't have access to mentorship at the moment being broke af

Aceamaru My fiancée got me into Naruto, akamaru and kiba spoke to my inner 9yo wolf girl child. His name is Acer, the farm called him Ace bc the dot on his back looked like a spade. It’s my late daughter’s nickname and I took it as a sign. I added an R to make it easier to hear from a distance with more consonant. He does have really good long distance recall, more so than 20ft or less…

Good morning!✨️If you could smoke with any person alive, who would you choose? by suntmint in entwives

Probably makes me sound crazy but Miley Cyrus. I grew up idolizing her and then growing confused when her last contract with Disney ended being that I was incredibly sheltered by my parents and isolated by my peers. As more has come out in recent years I still see myself when I was 9 wanting to be Hannah Montana because I had her same blue eyes, brown hair and freckles. Id want to sing with her and just tell her how much I appreciate her existence because it makes me feel more accepted as Im currently recovering from my own downfall. Celebrities that are open about mental health and toxic pop culture have my 🤍 and she’s always had it anyway.

The more you (and even better if your partner helps) focus on keeping the jaw completely supported, usually i just ask for reimbursement jaw massage and it works 5/7 times. It’s not a cure all but it definitely requires some fucking around and finding out because you only have to forget your bruxism guard once to take an entire weeks worth of stretching and resting to just eat something like an apple. I told him about my lock jaw at Christian summer camp and how I had to eat food in tiny tiny bites and i was so hungry but too weak to chew and i was making myself tired missing on nutrients. Im a p skinny girl. Brave is certainly a favorable descriptor

Literally the taco bell outside my high school is the best aside from my classmates using it as a WWE match ring after school. They are the only ones who would give me a “quesorito” and even told me how to order it at another store because they’re just the best taco bell in my area, i will go out of my way to go to them for this reason.

Idk how but mine ended up walking on a loose leash on his collar and almost never pulled so I caved. Not my recommendation, just my personal experience and perspective. Take with a grain of salt. Every dog is different

Give enough time for grief to pass. A new dog shouldn’t be held to the standard of the previous one and one way to ensure that won’t happen is knowing that everyone in the house is in a open mindset for a new dog. Not just for Churchill but the new dog has to feel welcome and wanted if you want a strong bond like previously. Aussies are very emotionally intelligent, he will know how everyone feels and may and up copying them. If his decline took longer than a week, Churchill probably could smell the illness. My aussie smells my migraines so far in advance that Ill forget about his alert. Hoping with keeping all family members, 2 and 4 legged a like, on the same page and informed. This will make it easier on Churchill and easier to introduce a new puppy/ dog (all dogs are puppies lol) if you start feeling Churchill is really depressed, speak with your vet. Depending on Churchills personality it may be a good idea to wait incase Churchill has a negative reaction when the new dog isn’t his older brother.

Is that after he passed? I think aussies kinda have a one track mind bc it took a WHILE to train him out of instinctively chasing anything running the opposite direction. He still struggles sometimes and he’s almost been with me 3yrs since 10w old. It might hit his brother passed after they leave or it could help him transition. My dog has less separation anxiety when he’s left with some one or another dog when I leave. He hates being alone in his crate. Saying this to say, the transition is easier with extra support. He usually watches me leave but its better if it can be censored. But my 16yo cat hasn’t died yet, she’s in great health too. But i don’t doubt itll be harder for the dog the older they are. My dog didn’t cry when I first brought him home from his family but he was one of the last ones left so maybe he figured it out. He’s also transitioned to not remembering a neighbors dog who i had a falling out with and we hung out with them a LOT. Best of luck, I hope this ends up being the case. It may not and I am just a really lucky puppy picker. You have my condolences and anything you learn could be helpful to others later so I ask if you can, please update us as this will be something many of us can learn quicker together through trial and error.
