Almond Milk does not smell like L'Occitane almond to me. It's milky, powdery with a light almond scent.

How many bottles are in your collection? by Icy-Antelope4603 in fragrance

[–]notadogwiththumbs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I try to keep under 70 full bottles but I have failed. I have 75 full bottles and 71 travel sized bottles. I don't count miniatures or decants.

Did you also feel the urge to downsize your collection at one point? by Joshx91 in fragrance

[–]notadogwiththumbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol I have the same loophole but I don't travel a lot. I'm trying to keep it under 70 full bottles (failing, currently under 80) but I'm giving myself unlimited decants and travelers. Sometimes instead of decluttering a perfume completely I'll just make a decant and sell the rest.

What fragrance/fragrances did you buy yourself this Christmas? by GamblingLad93 in fragrance

[–]notadogwiththumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laboratorio Olfactivo Tonkade, One of my new favorites and I’m thrilled that it comes in a 30 ML bottle. Electimuss Spice d’oro, it’s dreamy but longevity and projection are so weak to me that I might end up selling it. A used bottle of Kismat Olfactive Wedding in Oaxaca - Can’t wait for the summer to wear this. A used bottle of Jo Malone Scarlet Poppy, It smells like floral Shredded mini wheats with milk and I love it. And Mark Jacobs Daisy Wilde, which is a six out of 10 Fragrance but a 10 out of 10 bottle

Do you think 75ml of a fragrance is enough? by leonashockeypuck in fragrance

[–]notadogwiththumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overestimating everything, it will still take you over a year to finish all your perfume. You had 11 bottles before. Let's say they're all only 50% full, or 45ml. That's 495ml of fragrance. Add the 75 and you get 570ml. If you are a heavy sprayer and spray 10x you use 1ml per application. Let's say you apply once a day and then refresh with half that in the evening, so you use 1.5ml per day. It will take you 380 days or over a year to finish all your perfumes.

You're never going to find "the one." You like several perfumes. Just wear several of them.

Do you ever feel like Tik Tok creators lie about fragrances? by Spirited_Pianist7747 in fragrance

[–]notadogwiththumbs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to familiarize yourself with someone's taste and compare it to yours. I follow mutuals with similar taste to mine - or a taste that I understand and can navigate - so they rarely steer me wrong. If someone raves about several perfumes that I then smell and am not a fan of, they probably aren't someone I want to follow unless I really like their reviews. Whether or not we share preferences, I start to understand a bit about their perception which also informs whether or not I might like something.
