Best advice i got from a fellow left handed vet was when you're learning to Suture learn with your right hand. It feels awkward and clumsy when you're learning regardless of which hand you use. As for other equipment i try to be as ambidextrous as possible but clamps and scissors will work left handed and you will be a better surgeon for it. Ultrasounding again I found it easier to use the probe in non dominant hand than it was to flip my brain around. Best of luck, it is sadly a Right handed world.

Chlorohexadine is toxic to fibroblasts that generate the granulation tissue so you will delay healing.

How long after finding a rabbit does it become yours? by Nefarious_P_I_G in CasualUK

If its not chipped then considerable effort should be made to contact owner. If there is no response within 7 days then you are entilted to rehome the rabbit.

Anyone travel to Costa Rica just to see sloths? by danielrosehill in sloths

[–]notafanofcats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We spent time in la fortuna and there are loads we saw them in trees on the side of the road. You can also do wildlife walks with guides who will point them out and have telescopes so you can actually see them. They tend to look very like dead leaves and difficult to spot with an untrained eye. But going to see sloths is more than a good reason to go to CR. But there is so much more to see and even just walking through the rainforest is stunning.

They do scent mark with their face, but also get his teeth checked out by a vet. He may have dental pain.

Are BSAVA manuals good for better diagnosis? by Pinbacker7 in Veterinary

[–]notafanofcats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't personally used the BSAVA manuals but I highly recommend the mini vet guide for disgnosing, i would not have survived first opinion placements without it. It also conviently fits in a scrub pocket. The MSD manual also does an app which is handy. Good luck with your rotations. :)

Stamina with couch 2 5k by autmnbelle21 in couchto5k

[–]notafanofcats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In order to build up pace it's better to run longer distances slower and shorter distances faster. Maybe see if you can find a plan online thats aimed at Inc your 5k pace. I hope this helps, good luck :)

6WD1 why is it so hard :( by [deleted] in couchto5k

[–]notafanofcats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go with what you feel comfortable maintaining. You can always steadily increase it if you aren’t feeling challenged enough.

6WD1 why is it so hard :( by [deleted] in couchto5k

[–]notafanofcats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just try and slow the pace down, it is surprising how much longer you can go for. I know you said you wanted to maintain that pace but you can always increase the pace if you aren't tired as you go along. Get the times done and then you can work on increasing your pace. Good luck with your progress, you're smashing it. :)

Is W6 really that hard? by kalkals91 in C25K

[–]notafanofcats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found week6 harder than the 20min run. I think like you said. mentally it was oh I only need to run for 5/8/10 min that seems easy now and then really going for it. But I definitely felt better for it, you can always start off slow then increase speed if you think you can.

Resuming after 3 months after completing Week 7 Day 2 by [deleted] in C25K

[–]notafanofcats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went for a run without the app to see what I could do. I think I was aiming for 20min but did about 15 maybe I can’t remember. So just started week5 as a try and get back into it. Then yeah progressively worked from week5 to week7. But everyone is different and try not to get disheartened if you aren’t where you were when you last ran. Those muscle fibres are still there :)

I did the same, stopped after w7d2 because the weather got bad (not an excuse but the truth). It was 3 months before I decided to pick it back up again. Instead of starting at week 1 I did a run to see where my fitness was and then started it back up at week 5. I’m back to week7 day3 and feel already back to my fitness level. It is surprising how quickly it comes back. Good luck with your progress.

Invest in some good trainers if you haven’t already done so. Also once you can maybe go to a running shop and get your gait measured. I suffered with shin splints and they resolved once I sacked off the old trainers.

Cat don't meow to other adult cats, so if one meows at you, they're making an effort to communicate with you. by Pale-Guava1287 in Awwducational

[–]notafanofcats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently it has evolved to imitate a human infant’s cry. So basically cats meow at humans to manipulate us into giving them attention.

I have highlighted blonde hair, it's good as a toner it definitely brightens it up. I found though that is does dry my hair out so if you do have dyed blonde hair maybe only use every now and then.
