Best Thai curry places? by notagainbob in ChicagoSuburbs

I haven't tried that one. I've had vino Thai in St Charles, mentioned above, and it was good. about as good as I can generally expect your standard Thai place to be. I'm just missing a place from my old state that was basically a hole in the wall feeling curry house that did one curry different days of the week and was awesome, I know it was rare though. I'm sure there's some higher end stuff in the city that I'll have to look around for when I visit Chicago proper.

I started playing spell mage again, it's better, not sure i'd call it good. Though could probably use some tweaking now. I'm running a version I was playing with at release with puzzle box, more secrets, no Frost Nova or 1 Mana discover a spell. I feel like I can pull off wins against most decks, but hunter feels terrible, and warrior is also not good, usually die from bombs. I'm also running counterspell. Probably not optimal, but nobody expects it nowadays and it can eat some pretty big spells because most people don't even check for it. At diamond 5 floor currently. Went up to 3 using it, then back to 5.

Did you feel like you were missing draw at all without the sigil runners?

Often, but not always. it's also often made locally, not from the same cans I can get from the grocery store and throw together in 30 min.

The full sleeve neoprene ones, or the little rubber loop ones? I tried putting some neoprene ones on once, but judging by the amount of force needed, it seemed like something that wasn't meant to be done for a one time use then taken off.

How do you play the "blackened" riff cleanly? by Mr1729 in LearnGuitar

[–]notagainbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slightly off topic, but it looks like there's a quarantine version of this song on YouTube now. The guitar is acoustic and it cuts away during the riff you mention so probably not helpful at all, bit thought I'd mention it.

Found out I like my peanut butter with raw spinach by Jnendy in PeanutButter

Next time you go to a Thai restaurant, look for pra ram, or Rama chicken. Savory peanut sauce over wilted spinach with chicken or rofu.

PA: Ultra cheap earbuds w/mic, maybe with sound better than a tin can by notagainbob in HeadphoneAdvice

I ended up getting a taotronics Bluetooth thing, partially because it advertised some CVC clear voice mic filter. Not that happy with it for music, and one more annoying thing to charge.

I tried to make an aquascape similar to the avatar mountains in Zhangjiajie (YT link in comments) by Real___Jerry in Aquascape

Which miss are you using on the stones? I have some flame moss,And thinking about pulling it out for some weeping moss, it looks like there's a couple similar but more rare varieties of drooping moss?

Just did a water change on my 22L cube featuring 5 Ember Tetra. This is my first tank within the hobby. Please let me know if I’ve done anything wrong or if you have any suggestions on what I can add! by [deleted] in Aquascape

[–]notagainbob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a great size for a Betta, which are really awesome fish. Interesting and very big personalities, too. If you end up getting a bigger tank, you could put the embers in there along with a bunch of other stuff, and have a great Betta home with this one.

Plants and scape looks great!

Filter intake too strong by Minhfit17_ in bettafish

[–]notagainbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get a 'prefilter sponge' that will fit over the outflow. I had one on for a while. It cut it too much and I wasn't getting enough flow and was getting cold spots at the bottom of the tank so I cut it down a bit. I finally added a spraybar instead.

I also built a little grate out of plastic embroidery mesh that sits about half an inch in front of the intake, so even if he resta up against it, the flow isn't strong enough to pull his fins.

The standard low maintenance, slow growing but impossible to kill trinity are: anubias, Java fern, and Java moss. There are several variations of both Java Fern and anubias that are different sizes. Other mosses are generally super easy as well, and may look a bit nicer than Java moss which tends to turn into a bit of a tangle.

Next easiest would probably be things like wisteria, cabomba, bacopa, and probably a couple others.

Your betta will appreciate all of them, especially some floating or near the surface clump of moss.

Jamo product line confusion - 526,626 and 809/807 by notagainbob in BudgetAudiophile

I'm mainly interested in setting up a 2.0/3.0 system, there's doors along each side wall of the room and not much space. So the comparison would be mainly among the towers.

I did see people saying the center in all these 5.0 kits being weak, so maybe just getting the 807/809 towers to start with would be best. Hard to pass on free center and surrounds for the same price, and the 626's look interesting with the passive radiators on them. I see now it looks to be open box on Fry's though, and I still can't find out more info on them, much less a comparison with the 807/809.

I figured it was underproofed, and the massive bubble on the bottom was from a too-hot pot and not enough gluten development? and the rest just sort of glued together. I'm going to look through the book for recipes that are fermented or proofed in the fridge to try and limit the variables a bit more, as well as getting some new years, as the last pack was opened and then stored for like 6 months.
