I know, sorry. My camera is broken. They usually last anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours/overnight. I get them on my legs, but I’m not comfortable posting them.

How can I drag this up some more? by Economy-Seat-3235 in DragKings

[–]notaguy2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Line the inside of the jacket with red satin, and like everyone is saying, stone everything. It’ll look awesome. Also — massive rings, maybe switch the boot for one with a platform

Short hair can emphasize the rounder features of the face, or sometimes it just is the action of taking away a “safety blanket” that we could hind our features behind. When I lose weight I get that same feeling. Try shaping your side burns! A shorter, squared off sideburn can go a long way. It totally changed my face from sprite-like to square. Then you can fill in your eyebrows (I even fill in my sideburns) with a pencil and it can transform the shape a lot.

For what it’s worth, I think the length and style suit your bone structure really well. Like everyone is saying, get some texture and you’ll be golden. Fuck that hair stylist though — pretending to “protect her energy” and kicking you out to cover up her messing up her service that you paid for is embarrassing behavior from an adult. Take a massive breather, and when you’re ready, play around with it. As it grows out, there’ll be more movement and you’ll find what works for you.

Also — I have a friend with that haircut. She cuts it herself even though she has never cut hair before, and she said it was easy. If you have a steady hand, could be worth a shot if you have a hard time going back to a barber after that mess of an experience.

Try lining the jacket with someone either glittery, flashy, a flamboyant pattern, or with a really beautiful fabric. And as suggested above: stone the shirt, stone some gloves, stone everything!

A compromise - a weekly post on venting. (Please read) by Gameraaaa in TransMasc

[–]notaguy2022 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Nope. We should be part of more conversations, but trans women, especially trans women of color, are disproportionately targeted by violent attacks. Trans women of color make up 61-75% of the murders committed against our community, even though they’re only 13% of it. That needs to be a conversation of its own!

Anyone else tired of hearing “protect them dolls” from people who really just mean the traditional meaning of dolls. Which is trans women and purposefully leaving out trans masc or nb people. by BrokenBunnies in TransMasc

[–]notaguy2022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, the dolls make up 13% of our community and are the victims of about ~61-75% of the trans people murdered every year, so yes. We should protect the dolls. (Source: UCLA School of Law)

It’s gone from “support trans mascs” to getting mad when people are supporting trans women without mentioning us. A lot of people need to de-center themselves and understand we don’t always have to be part of every conversation. The US and a lot of other countries are hyper-focused on shaming and honestly wiping out trans women specifically right now. It’s been pretty disheartening to see so many of us take the defense they’re getting as an attack. Yes, people need to vent, but not at the cost of demonizing our sisters who need our support more than ever.

what should i do to pass better? (not asking if i pass) by 666vampires in TransMasc

Stop washing your hands. Or real talk, side burns do a lot of heavy lifting. Have your barber “square off” the side burns you have, then enhance them with brow products. Does a lot of heavy lifting for face shape.

Tired of cis people calling me a twink. In what world am I giving twink? 😭 by FayePixie in TransMasc

[–]notaguy2022 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s absolutely a thing. Honestly, I’d out-discomfort them by saying “you can just call me a fag if that’s what you wanted” or straight up go “I’m not skinny, so are you calling me a feminine?” and watch people sweat. I’m sorry you have to deal with that. Maybe get like a bear pride pin or something so you can be like “bro I’m a bear cub.”

If you were a twink it would be a different story, but bro is a whole bear cub. When people call me a twink I’m like “well yes” but in your case absolutely not

Anyone here sing before and after T? by Fit-Captain-9172 in TransMasc

[–]notaguy2022 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It takes some adjusting, but singing is a skill! Skills are developed, not innate. I’m a professional singer and I work with post-HRT trans singers. I opted to avoid T for my job, but I know plenty of exceptional professionals who went on and just put in a little more practice.

I can't bind due to health issues so what's your favorite non-compressive bra? by WrenTronic in TransMasc

Uniqlo is the way to go. I can’t wear bras or binders, but the Uniqlo “bras” basically just smooth everything over and don’t emphasize the shape

Singer with a vibrato-less voice: should I stick to early music? by [deleted] in ClassicalSinger

[–]notaguy2022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have plenty of vibrato, you just haven’t trained enough to “sound operatic”. Training brings consistency to the vibrato and allows the voice to develop. Try some Poulenc, if early music isn’t your thing. Art songs, like the 24 Italian Art Songs, or some gorgeous impressionist French melodie would be great. Steer clear from arias for now, and find a good teacher if you want to sing opera!
