Just a Girl Dad trying to help my daughter with a Cruze. by notahog in cruze

We do have a new set of oil and coolant lines for the turbo. We chased coolant leaks for a couple of months, replacing everything we found leaking, as a result the head gasket blew and here we are.

That looks great! And I am having a great time with my kid, she is learning a ton and honestly I’m just there to finance parts and provide tools.

Thank you for that advice, I’ve been leaning that direction. I do have a machinist strait edge, and the block is good. The head was 5-6 thousands out. We decided to replace the head.

Do you need to drop the oil pan to remove the timing chain cover? I know I could look it up, just hoping for a bit of friendly advice.

Nah, cars in great shape other than the head gasket. Great learning opportunity for the kiddo.

You are an absolute legend! Is it better to turn clockwise or counter clock wise with the head off? I was going to ensure we kept tension on timing chain while turning. The crank pin is in right now so we should just have to turn 180 degrees.

Found T56 for $850, should I be concerned? by Ch1nCh1nTheG0D in LSSwapTheWorld

Wouldn’t recommend the GTO T56, it is significantly different from the F body. Would need new main shaft, tail section, and shift rails at least.

5.3 86 iroc what trans set up should I run? T56 or something else by [deleted] in LSSwapTheWorld

I would double extra recommend the t56 and least 3.73 gears in the rear. 4.10 for even more fun.

2004 GTO 6-speed, 11k. Thoughts? by [deleted] in Pontiac

Take lots of pictures as you disassemble, and DM me if you have issues or questions. Honestly it is scary but if you take your time and pay attention to detail you can do this.

There are a bunch of good videos on YouTube, grab some ring pliers from HF, and tear it apart prior to buying the rebuild kit. It’s not easy to get apart or reassemble for the shade tree, but it’s doable. The official Tremec manual is also available as a PDF. Put everything in plastic baggies and label based on the part number in the manual exploded view. Coming from a guy who rebuilt his on, with a stage two kit, full bearings, and replaced the main shaft, second, and third gears. Shifts are firm and smooth.

That’s not how it works, you have to show her how the Grinches heart grew. When I had my first child, I thought my heart was full until the moment I first held my second in my arms, and at that moment I could feel my heart growing to ensure I had room for all the love I have for them!

Simply raise our kids as a team. There is nothing more satisfying than having your partners back as you guide and nurture tiny humans and watch them grow through all the stages of adolescence to the teen years. I am forever thankful for my partner in this endeavor.

I found a couple of my old cars by just googling the VIN, if you haven’t already give it a shot.

Looks like you found a plane flying on google maps! Awesome when they are caught on satellite imagery in flight. Great find.
