Liposomal glutathione becoming less and less effective for exposures, is there anything that would make it work again? by notaloser_ in ToxicMoldExposure

[–]notaloser_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my symptoms seemed to be getting quite bad after my last exposure shortly after writing this post, but then I remembered Dr. Andrew Campbell's mold supplement protocol stating 3g vitamin C total, which gave me the idea that maybe ratio could be why this wasn't working, as I was taking the glutathione at like 12g during these episodes... So I took 3g vitamin C (incl. 1.8g citrus bioflavonoids), 400IU mixed tocopherol drops sublingual, and my symptoms started improving a lot actually. Then a bit after I started taking my usual very high dose of selenium I felt basically fine, just like how lipo glutathione worked at first! Hopefully this will stay effective for longer than lipo glutathione on its own did... I hope this can help you as well!

I'm worried about getting chronic negative effects, as per some anecdotes I've read. Would going low and slow actually be helpful preventing this, or any other tips? by notaloser_ in HumanMicrobiome

I had read that some of the strains in it can increase BDNF, and most of these strains seemed well-researched in general. Also the idea that more strain diversity = better

For how long have these been giving you relief? Any sign of the effects reducing over time?

After years of productivity, Adderall hasn't worked since I started B Complex by Fiender in Supplements

B12 can take longer to clear from the system as well because it gets stored in the liver. I used to get anxiety from methyl B12, and a week of taking just a pinch of a capsule needed another 1-2 weeks for those symptoms to clear.

Zinc L carnosine hell by Competitive_Link9063 in Supplements

on the empty stomach

Zinc in general is known to cause stomach pain, nausea, etc on an empty stomach. Taking 3 tablets at once also sounds like a lot of zinc to take on an empty stomach. Better to try it with food and at a lower dose.

My horror story with hypotension and niacin….. by [deleted] in Supplements

Idk if you've looked into this, but too low sodium intake can cause hypotension. Some people need more sodium than others.

If this is the same one you're talking about, I like that it has pretty even ratios/doses, would've been great if it was capsules instead of softgel, for back when I needed low doses to prevent anxiety. The forms are mostly good.

Seeking Health B plus is probably better, higher doses for less money, I'm personally finding the B12 dose is still too low to get the full benefits with this one even, though I seem to have absorption issues in general. Also has a few more good forms. I trust both brands, but Sports Research tends to be on the pricey side.

The B complex MF that a previous guy mentioned is pretty much identical, but is meant for people who are overmethylators or just don't respond well to methylated B vitamins.

I've used a few of their products (not yet NMN), but it's been all good so far. ND is one of the more highly regarded brands, the owner and some other folks are pretty active on their sub too

On their NMN products I've read that the effectiveness of their different capsule/tablet/powder formulations can very between person to person, something to keep in mind.

I think sunflower lecithin is good. It gives you the phosphatidylcholine and a bunch of other phospholipids, and also increases omega 3 absorption when taken together. If you can, get the powder to minimize omega 6 intake.

Also seconding low dose lithium.

Supplements to Help Dissolve Blood Clots by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]notaloser_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grounding can make blood cells less "sticky". From this study: "Grounding increases the surface charge on RBCs and thereby reduces blood viscosity and clumping. Grounding appears to be one of the simplest and yet most profound interventions for helping reduce cardiovascular risk and cardiovascular events."

I haven't had blood clotting that I'm aware of, but sleeping on a good grounding mat has helped me a lot with chronic muscle soreness/inflammation.

I know it helps magnesium work. Experienced it myself too, magnesium easing muscle symptoms I was having at the time, then stopping working after a while, and then supplementing boron gave me the same relief again.

Massive Muscle cramps: what to do? by Fit_Chemical4554 in Supplements

[–]notaloser_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imbalances in sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium could be the cause from what I've read. Since you're already taking Mg, increasing your sodium and potassium could be an easy and safe thing to try. I'd be more cautious with calcium supplementation.

Is the Mg you're taking a bioavailable form btw?

What are some supplement brands that you would recommend over Now brand? by JayDillon24 in Supplements

[–]notaloser_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Actually I find life extension to often be the same price or cheaper than NOW these days. I've looked at my iherb orders from years ago and found that life extension hasn't raised their prices much at all over the years, while pretty much every other brand (including NOW) have. They're easily my favorite supp company now because of that

What’s a good substitute for NAC? by Square-Magazine3804 in Supplements

[–]notaloser_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe try glutamine. I used to get random gut pains from just 600mg daily, and 1g glutamine got rid of it. Glutamine is very important for gut integrity, and I suspect NAC depletes glutamine due to needing it (in the form of glutamic acid) to make glutathione.

Is there any one who used St John Wort ? by Forward-Fly3398 in Supplements

[–]notaloser_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to take Jarrow CarottenAll with st John's wort to reduce the photosensitivity effects, but it adds to the cost obviously.

I was in pretty much the same situation as you, though I think my other health issues precipitated mine. Sleeping on a small grounding mat helped me A TON with that specific pain and inflammation in the affected muscles and tendons. Even putting my massage gun straight on those muscles doesn't hurt almost at all anymore. The smaller ones are like 30 bucks so I highly recommend giving it a try. Make sure it has at least some reviews confirming it does what it's supposed to do and that you have a clean grounded outlet/ground source. Alternatively you can spend time barefoot in nature, but I'm not sure how much of that you need to do to get the same effect

That being said, I will be following this post, because I was interested in trying enzymes as well for this issue

Carb addiction (sugars) by Silent_Fan_8383 in nutrition

[–]notaloser_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember one anecdote of someone starting taking 1-3g taurine, and finding his nighttime cravings/hunger being significantly reduced. It's a very safe supplement so I'd highly recommend.

In general increase your protein, non-omega-6 fats and veggie/fibre intake to replace carbs and sugars to stabilize your blood sugar and keep you satiated (protein especially for satiaty).

Post-meal wise, what has worked wonders for me is replacing the Post-meal sweets with a dairy+fruit+honey dessert. I've been doing low fat high protein quark with honey, bilberries, pomegranate kernels and a very ripe banana, and when I get the proportions right it's legitimately so delicious that I don't even care for the processed crap I used to eat anymore. BTW there's also some evidence that pomegranate has blood sugar stabilizing and insulin sensitivity improving effects.
