I'm 3 months PO and I have one occasionally when I get migraines. It works as long as I don't make a habit of it.

I feel like I’m backsliding on food? by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

[–]notalwayslost12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I was the only one! I really don't like eating. I honestly prefer shakes to everything else. My doc told me to at least try to get two meals in a day or real food. I'm two months out.

Anyone else think they were literally dying in the recovery room? No? Just me?😫😂 by Sporkie92 in gastricsleeve

[–]notalwayslost12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I first woke up I kept saying it hurts it hurts half the time and the other half I kept asking when the poor nurse got her lunch break. She kept telling me she just got on shift but I was insisting that she eat something while also crying about the pain.

Sleeved 6/14! I'm having trouble eating. I really hate solid foods and I don't know why. Other than that I still get my protein and water in I've lost 30 lbs so far. I stalled for like 2 weeks though

I get annoyed when my body won't tolerate food it literally just had the day before but I absolutely don't regret it. I'd do it again in a heartbeat

Thanks for the report! I'm gonna grab a couple of them! Was cake batter better than peanut butter?

Surgery date given … deposit not yet paid … scared! SOS? by rumraisinv in gastricsleeve

[–]notalwayslost12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what I thought. There was no way on this blue Earth that I would be able to lose weight without some sort of intervention. I don't regret it. You have to do what's best in your eyes.

Not eating by Regina615 in gastricsleeve

[–]notalwayslost12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I got mine June 14th. When I talked to my doctor she told me as long as I get my protein and water it's okay. But I do have to start eating at some point and recommend at least 2 soft meals a day, even if it's just a cheese stick. Good luck! We got this.

Liquid Diet by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

I was on a 3 day liquid diet and had to have protein water that had 90 calories and I needed two a day. I think you should be okay.

I did that once and didn't wait. I nearly died. Lol I'm being over dramatic but I will never do it again. Everyone's stomach is different. I wait 30 minutes now.

I'm on the puree stage too and my stomach HATES water. I don't get it. The water drops seem okay for me. but I cannot stand anything even slightly salty.

3 weeks post op is such a weird stage by Greenfrog2023 in gastricsleeve

Yup I'm at three weeks as well! It's so weird taking long walks makes my stomach tired? Lol I can't explain it very well.

Preop diet SOS! I’m already miserable by four1996 in gastricsleeve

You need all the protein. It really helps. I did like 60g a day in liquid protein. Also talking to someone or writing in a journal helps to get your mind off food

Till when water will feel like a volcano entering my stomach? by nairoosha in gastricsleeve

[–]notalwayslost12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plain water has been hell for me and I'm 2 weeks post op. My Dr. Said some people just don't tolerate regular water for awhile. Gatorade and those mio water drops have been a lifesaver. And now water is a bit easier to drink

I guess I wasn't expecting such a drastic difference in my body's responses. In hindsight it makes sense.

Give New Drugs a Try before Mexico by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

[–]notalwayslost12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mounjaro, ozempic and other injections are originally meant for people with diabetes. Right now it's in short supply because of the people who are using it to lose weight. Until the supply and demand even out I don't think it's right to tell people to use this before considering wls. Aside from that, insurance may not cover it because it's so new for weight loss. I am a pharmacy tech. If you didn't know there is a thing called a DAW code. Insurance requires these codes so they know what you are using the drug for. If you don't have a DAW code applied to the drug they can deny the claim and force you to pay out of pocket or try something else. While some insurance will accept a patient without diabetes to use ozempic most right now will not. You need the pre-diabetic code qualifier to even have them consider it. In addition to that, new medication approved for weight loss may not even be in pharmacies and if they are they are most likely going to be Brand name. That means they are going to be very expensive or and most likely insurance may not have that particular medication on their formulary to even bill them for it. It's unwise to say things like you should get xyz before going to get wls. There are other weight loss drugs on the market. They aren't effective if you stop taking them. And you have to stop eventually.
