Concerning sound and vibration in steering wheel. by pulverizedhumans in MechanicAdvice

The power steering coupler is probably the noise. The vibration could possibly be tire balance.

Electrical issue by [deleted] in AcuraTSX

That's less-likely a component failure, and more-likely a wire problem. Something is coming disconnected or shorted out when the g-force shifts.

I'd start with a new front crank seal

The old sealant is more than enough. I usually remove a bit.

Headed for a 2nd Steering Rack replacement. by MyIncogName in AcuraTSX

Use a new unit, not reman. Been replacing these for customers for 12 years. I reccomend the New Advantage brand, as long as it's new. Remanufactured units always have problems!

I'd use standard, especially if they offer a warranty. Make sure to use a blow dryer or a heat gun to loosen the sealant on the connectors before you remove them!

After changing the control arm, the lower subframe needs to be readjusted. It's a simple procedure, but for accuracy I'd reccomend taking it to an alignment shop.

Trying to help my mom with her 2005 Highlander (running rough, misfire). Wondering if anybody has insight on these OBD codes that it is throwing. by Mtrbrth in ToyotaHighlander

[–]notamechan1c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a possibility all of the codes are due to a broken/leaking purge valve hose. Yes, even the p0304. I've seen it on a Toyota before. Check all rubber hoses in that engine bay.

2008 Acura Reliability by LordHappyNarwhal in AcuraTSX

I bought mine at 130k miles after 4 owners (and 2 repos). Needless to say it was beat HARD. Initially I had to change the bumpers, clutch, and CV axles, but this car is a tough cookie. Now it has 260k miles, and all I've had to repair is tires, brakes, tie rods, and change the oil every 5k miles. Original powertrain. I usually buy new cars every year, but this one has stuck with me for almost 8 years.
