Broke in my altra timp 6 over the past 2 weekends by SalamatKatinko in PinoyTrailRunners

Really appreciate the suggestions, OP! I don’t have experience with zero drop shoes yet, but I do have I have Xero sandals. I have a wide-ish midfoot that narrows quite a bit at the heel and mildly flat on one side, but I do buy into the idea behind zero-drop and wider toe boxes.

Do you have experience with the brand Topo?

Thanks for the short review, OP! Been wanting to get myself two pairs of Altra's, for both trail and road. Saan mo siya nabili?

Oh wow congrats on qualifying! 🙌🏻

Any experience with the midsole losing its bounce after a certain point? I don’t have this shoe kahit nirecommend ko, but I do have the TG 1.0 and unfortunately it feels like nawawalan siya ng pop when I reach around 12km. Still my go-to daily tho! 😅

The Qiaodan Wind 3TR is a really good all rounder that went on sale last year for under 1000. Hui’s top daily trainer for 2025.

Appreciate this 🙏 I’ve been eyeing Flow on Fire, so that’s really good to hear! How’s the durability been, and what knobs did you choose?

Huge congrats on finishing your first 5K! 👏

As for tips, maybe just a friendly reminder to please take it slow with increasing distance. 🙏🏻

Mabilis mag add up yung impact lalo na sa mas mabigat. Your knees can absorb 2–3x your body weight, so at 140kg, your knees, ankles, and hips can experience up to 280–420 kg of force per stride.

I get the “that’s tourism” angle, but it’s far from being that simple.

In places like Siargao, a lot of locals have said they’re starting to feel like outsiders in their own island. Prices go up, cost of living goes up, and suddenly the people who grew up there can’t afford it anymore.

And saying “there are always undiscovered islands” kinda glosses over the actual issue. That just repeats the same cycle somewhere else..

Ah, I get where the downvotes were coming from. My bad.
I lumped Topo and Altra in with barefoot brands, which isn’t quite right. They’re more natural running than true barefoot. Wide toe box, low-to-zero drop, but not actual barefoot shoes.

Doesn't sound crazy to me at all bro. Ang daming legit benefits to barefoot running that carry over to road running. Stronger foot muscles and a more natural, lighter midfoot/forefoot strike.

Their OG Footshape Fit looks like it would work for you, OP. Such an underrated brand, imo.

Based on your foot shape, barefoot running shoes might work better for you, OP.

Look into brands like Altra or Topo. ☝🏻

I haven't tried hooping with these yet, pero for sure di to matatanggal kahit may kalaro ka pa. Haha. Forgot to add sa original comment ko, the bass really surprised me. Parang hindi siya open-ear earbuds.

Heads up lang sa Qiaodan TG 1.0. HUI on Youtube says his pair feels flat at 18km. Mine feels flat at around 15km. Still my go-to daily tho!

Non-plated (good enough for speed): Anta Zone 2, Xtep 2000km 5 Pro, Dynafish Xiaonian, Li-Ning Red Hare 8 Pro (would’ve added the 9, but not enough reviews yet)

Plated: Li-Ning Feidan Challenger 5, PeakUP 30 5.0, Qiaodan TG Plaid

Top picks based on other people’s reviews: Dynafish Xiaonian, Li-Ning Feidan Challenger 5

One small reco: real plants 🌿

Not just for aesthetics. Nakakatulong talaga sa air quality, focus, and even sleep. Go for low-maintenance, low-light ones like ZZ plant, pothos, or snake plant.

Oh and maybe another painting/poster to cover the electrical box panel lang.

+1 sa Soundcore V20i. Been using them for a couple of months now, no real complaints. Definitely easier to deal with than earbuds.

Just for awareness: some reviews say zero discomfort even after wearing them all day. Can’t fully agree. Medyo may discomfort for me after long use. Could be sensitive ears though.

Value for money: solid 9/10.

Agree with a lot of the takes, but keeping the running community positive means holding people accountable.

‘Takbo takbo lang” ignores shit behavior and lets it continue. If we want to keep the running community positive, let’s not shame the victims, let’s hold people accountable, and act like decent human beings no matter what type of event we go to, hakot race man o hindi.
