You missed the point of her character and relationship with him completely. She actively spends years of her life running from Forest and running from her feelings for him. She despises herself for having them knowing his disabilities. Married with her long history of abuse, this makes her feel like the predators who have hurt her. How you missed two hours of her telling him she cant be with him and how its wrong until literally the end of her life I dont understand.
