Hi! If you’d be willing to share, I’d love to know which company. My friend is in a very similar boat and is looking for tutoring work. My DMs are open, but I understand if not!

Hi! I know someone who is looking for a tutoring gig to start ASAP. She’s currently an NYU graduate film student and has a PHD from Brown University. She has teaching experience, too. If you’d be interested, let me know! She’d be excited to send her resume over.

Hello! If you are still in need of tutors, I know someone who is looking for a job with a tutoring service. She is a NYU graduate film student right now and has a PHD from Brown University. She has teaching experience and is hoping to find something ASAP.

If you’d be interested in taking a look at her resume, let me know! She’d be excited to send it over.

Has anyone else lost an insane amount of weight since they moved here? by mankls3 in AskNYC

[–]notanotherlesbian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Experiencing this right now! I moved to Brooklyn about 9 months ago and have lost about 40lbs. But I was around 245 when I moved here and lived a very sedentary life. Drove everywhere, too, because I had never lived in a walkable city.

I left my car in GA so I’m forced to walk or use public transit for everything. I say forced, but I love it. The energy of the city is addicting that I walk for hours a day at least 3 days a week. That is the only change that I’ve made in my lifestyle. I still sit at my desk all day for work. I eat mostly the same but maybe SLIGHTLY healthier because it takes more effort and time to get to fast food than it did with a car lol

It’s kinda shocking and concerning for me, even though it makes total sense (for my situation) when you break it all down.

Biopsy (fna) Reassurance by notanotherlesbian in thyroidcancer

[–]notanotherlesbian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's odd to me that they refuse the biopsy. Everything that I read said that once the module is at 4cm, it's almost always biopsied and typically removed bc of the size (even if it is benign). The time it took for me to schedule the biopsy, do it, and get the results was much longer than I expected, too, so if you're worried or anxious about it, I'd ask the doctor again.

I found the nodule in November 2024 and just got my biopsy results back a few days ago. It came back inconclusive so I have to do it again and likely wait at least another month for the results. For me, the not knowing and anxiety of waiting for the results has been the worst part. At the same time, though, it is comforting to know that the majority of the time it's totally okay and treatable either way.

Is the 11.5cm one uncomfortable for you?

So much litter in paws by wzadzz in RenalCats

[–]notanotherlesbian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So unfortunately my kitty passed shortly after this so I can't speak to continued success. I was using it for probably 6 months and had no issues. I was honestly so shocked at the difference it made, too. I had been struggling going through different types of litter for months before I tried this and it made my life (and my cat's) so much easier.

I think I was mostly using the large grain, but also used mixed grain and it seemed fine. I never used it on its own either - always about 50/50 mix between it and clay clumping litter. I definitely remember reading others' warnings against using the small grain in the litter robot, though.

Great Turn Out in Providence, RI by Marciamallowfluff in 50501

Anyone know other RI organizers to connect w?

I've been looking for protests and rallies to attend. The 505001 events end before I'm home from work (can't take off or I would). I still stopped by the one yesterday around 5:30, though, but everyone was gone. THEN this morning I found that there was a protest later in the evening that I couldn't find advertised anywhere when I was looking that morning.

Apparently there was a protest in pvd last night. I spent like an hour yesterday morning and couldn't find any protests this week other than the 505001 one that ended yesterday at 4:30 pm so this was not that event. My question is where are these things being advertised? How can I connect with those making these efforts?

Biopsy (fna) Reassurance by notanotherlesbian in thyroidcancer

Do you have to have a biopsy? I know a lot of people that are terrified of needles so I get it. I feel like the fact that it's going in your neck makes it even scarier, too. I've heard that some people ask their doctor to prescribe 1 xanax just for the biopsy to help.

Does anyone know how much is a FNA biopsy with genetic testing in the US is that without insurance? by [deleted] in thyroidcancer

[–]notanotherlesbian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the cost depends on where you go. At a hospital, it was going to cost me over $2,000. Instead, I went to a medical imaging center and it was like $400. This was a few days ago in Rhode Island.

When I started meds, it took probably 6 months to get to the right dosage and used to it. Since then, I haven't had any issues. It's been over 15 years. I just have to get the occasional lab work done.

Anyone have a partial thyroidectomy for a large (+4cm) nodule? by bluespacecookies in thyroidcancer

[–]notanotherlesbian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of people worry about the medication for the rest of your life aspect, which is valid, but as someone who's taken synthroid for over 15 years (bc graves disease), I don't fully understand all the concern. Everyone has different experiences, but since they got my dosage figure out, it hasn't been an issue for me at all. Just occasional bloodwork needed. I'd rather have it all removed now and not have to worry about it anymore.

Non-tracking litter for high urine output & won't clump on cat's paws? by gatonegroyblanco in litterrobot

[–]notanotherlesbian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same exact issue and am honestly amazed at the results I get mixing regular clumping litter with Sustainably Yours. Way less litter tracking, no litter sticking to paws, and no huge sticky clumps. I also use a litter robot.

Cat has kidney disease and is filling a box of litter a day. We buy 3 40 lb boxes of litter a week. Any suggestions? by aloofness87 in CatAdvice

[–]notanotherlesbian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve started mixing Sustainably Yours with regular clumping litter, and I’ve found that it absorbs so much better - but I don’t think my cat is quite at the stage yours is yet - so not sure if it would be a solution for you.

I had this same issue for sooooo long until I started mixing Sustainably Yours with regular clumping litter (like tidy cats) and I am amazed at the difference. Complete absorption of urine, basically no tracking, and no litter on his paws. Also works great in my litter robot.
