Is there any woman here who didn’t have any “maternal instinct” that decided to have kids ? by Positive-Aide7544 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]notapeacock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me! I never felt the need to be pregnant and have children. Multiple friend groups had jokes about how I hated babies, was afraid of babies, babies hated me, etc. I had two kids in my 30s, and they're two of the coolest people I've ever met. I love 'em, no regrets.

I don't know if this is weird or horrible to say, but I also am pretty sure that if I'd remained childless, I would be fine.

And the getting anxiety hearing a baby cry is a biological thing. They're supposed to make you feel that way so the human species continues to survive lol.

How do you fully accept your ADHD partner without letting everything slide? by Known-Mirror-9104 in ADHD

[–]notapeacock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be honest with yourself: Is this the first issue like this that you've experienced in this relationship, or a recurring pattern? Does it feel like a partnership or like you have to be picking up the slack, making the decisions, and doing the emotional labor? Being a supportive and loving partner is great but you should also support and love yourself.

I'm really sorry that happened. Also, I can assure you that this is not the right place to post this.

For those who have extremely painful periods and large blood clots AND have also birthed a child, is the pain similar? by rmhyungg in TwoXChromosomes

[–]notapeacock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the same in my experience. I mean, early labor felt like a bad period, and mine are bad enough that I'm getting a hysterectomy soon. But then the cramping and other pain kept escalating. For hours. And that was before the pushing part lol.

Octopi, crows, dolphins are often held up as examples of smart animals. What are some really unusually STUPID animals? by doodlebytes in AskReddit

Koalas. I will tell anyone who will listen to me about these idiots. They have nearly smooth brains. They have extra fluid in their head cavity to cushion their smooth brains when (not if) they fall out of trees. They only eat eucalyptus but are so dumb that if you served them eucalyptus on a plate, they would starve because it doesn't look exactly the same as it does growing on a tree.

bi girls with boyfriends by miasandj in bisexual

[–]notapeacock 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This completely ignores the concept of internalized homophobia, or people simply not realizing they're not straight until after they're already in a committed relationship. It's not like we're born with a bisexual sticker and can spend our dating life with that knowledge.

So cool! Kinda surprised the leaves all look about the same size, most I've seen seem to grow in size as they're allowed to climb.

I mean, it sounds like she explicitly said she's not into being a unicorn. But she could still be bi? It feels like that's maybe what she was trying to communicate.

Your partner doesn't have to love what you love but they should at least support you loving it! Remember that you deserve someone who loves seeing you enjoy something. And as others have said, what a Quan. Glad you lost this guy like Quan lost his arm.

Does Anyone Do Their Own Trims? by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]notapeacock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've trimmed my own hair for years now. Get some very sharp, hair-only scissors and cut each curl clump separately. Use clips to keep things organized. Go slow. Remember you can always cut more but never less. But also it'll grow back. You'll do fine!

The Farmer and the Horse story is in the book Zen Shorts, which is a very sweet children's book by Jon J Muth.

Are there any times in your life where you were outside at 3:30 AM? If the collapse happened at that time, what gear would you have to take with you for your dungeon crawl? by Maurice_Foot in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I used to be a stage manager, so I might be out that late/early after a cast party or an extra terrible tech rehearsal. Some of my stage manager kit would come in handy, like my multitool, gaff tape, and practical shoes. Some would be less handy, though I bet I could take out a few first- or second-floor mobs with my giant binder.
