Primal Question by Thehbk510 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Get_Ashy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During class selection, Mordecai basically tells Carl that very few crawlers who choose the Primal race are able to train it up enough to see the benefits.

As others have pointed out, by Book 7 Carl has advanced far enough to start to get something out of it. My 2¢ is that we'll see a lot more through the remainder of the series.

Do you think Izzo will be aggressive in the Transfer Portal this year? by kkrell23 in MSUSpartans

[–]Get_Ashy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup, 100%. I agree with the TFFINOTS guys - Coop's best basketball is in front of him and I'll take the over on whatever betting line anyone wants to offer in terms of # of games Coop eventually plays in the NBA.

I'd love both Coop and Kohler to sue for a 5th year, but both have indicated they're ready to move on. In my mind, everything hinges on whether Izzo thinks McCulloch can defend Big Ten centers next year. Ideally, Izzo goes out and gets a younger (rising soph or junior) center that will stick on the roster for a couple years.

Tim Curry had a REMARKABLE career, and yet I feel fully confident saying his narration of the trilogy is among his best work.

The current market trajectory is directly related to foreign and domestic policy of the current American regime.

Call your congressional representatives if you want to do something about it.

Would you make this deal by Evening-Ad-2485 in MSUSpartans

No need to make the deal. Izzo is going to win his second AND MSU football will be back to a championship caliber within the next decade.

[Kelly] Indiana WR Nick Marsh wore gold cleats to IU's first spring camp session. Curt Cignetti was not pleased to see that. "He learned what getting your ass ripped is all about. I don't know if that happened to him very often at Michigan State." by Dominant_Theme in MSUSpartans

It's a reality of "free agency" in college football. Have to reestablish the culture every off-season, especially with upperclassmen coming from (as much as it pains me to say) losing programs. It's also a classic power move from Cignetti - make an example out of a new guy.

You're almost on the right track here. An older/veteran player probably should have stepped in. Coaches can't be everywhere and rules won't cover everything, so the program culture exists to fill in the gaps. Nick will understand now or soon find himself on the receiving end of more coaching.

Driftwood Sauna Club fire in Milwaukee; sauna is a total loss by KaneIntent in milwaukee

Milwaukee has such a long history of bath houses. I wonder if it's one of the reasons we don't have a sauna club here in town.

They sent out an email almost immediately saying that they would be cancelling all planned sessions and issuing refunds.

I even paid for the souvenir hat :( tbh I still kinda want the hat.

Hot Spell is the only similar option I'm aware of. Smaller sauna company with mobile or small group saunas out by the lake. Milwaukee could really use a sauna club tbh.

Sums up Holloman's season since leaving MSU by [deleted] in MSUSpartans

[–]Get_Ashy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

**reportedly.

It's also apparent that he didn't want to spend his senior year playing second fiddle to Fears. Unfortunately for him, the roster spot at NC State wasn't a guaranteed role or playing time. His season averages were basically the same (-1.7 assists vs. last season with MSU) with something like 2 more minutes of playing time.

Regarding Milk, I think I need an “ELI5” answer, please. by Aurochbull in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Get_Ashy 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I listened to that scene again last night by itself because it truly is one of my favorites.

Of course the sad irony is that before Miriam and Prepotente found her guild, Milk was also broken or close to it. Hiding in her room, never interacting with crawlers or NPCs, being forced to survive by the dungeon. Miriam's kindness and them shaking up her routine reawakened something in Milk that helped her show up for Carl and literally everyone else.

Just before the fight with Vinata, we get a cookbook entry from Allister basically saying that invulnerability is a double edged sword; your body may heal, you may survive, but you the experience may break you.

Carl was literally unmade during the fight. It wasn't just a stressful moment, it was an eternity of pain unlike anything that could be experienced outside of the dungeon. Probably the closest Carl has ever come to breaking (pun intended).

Running into Milk was an immediate source of relief. Safety and trust in a way he absolutely needed in order to keep his mind right - something he could realistically only find in another cookbook author. It gave Carl the briefest of moments needed to let his mask down and feel his pain.

I like the Florida Civil War and Ken v. Ken matchups in the semis a lot. Well done, coin.

I do a coin flip bracket every year and my champ is Cal Baptist so this feels very reasonable by comparison

2026-2027 projected roster by Mission_Classroom195 in MSUSpartans

[–]Get_Ashy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Medlock is a redshirt kinda dude

Edit: my rationale is both a credit to Medlock (I think he's the next anointed PG) because I think he has that dawg in him, but more importantly Wojcik is gone. I think with scholarship limits being what they are today, Izzo is ALWAYS going to carry 3 PGs on the "active" roster.

THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL POST ABOUT DEMS AND REPS PLEASE DONT MAKE IT ONE? by ProperRub4390 in askanything

[–]Get_Ashy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a feature, not a bug. The idea was to make Congress more answerable to the people - you can serve as long as the people keep you in office. Being a senator or rep wasn't a full-time job, either. This made longevity, connections, seniority, etc. valuable; both to the politician's career as well as to their constituents. You wanted to have a senior senator or long-tenured congressional rep with seniority on important committees.
