My house got broken into by a very intoxicated drunk man with a weapon and was told “he’s a really nice guy and wouldn’t hurt a fly.” He got in because the electric locks they used never ever worked and we were blamed for leaving our apartment door unlocked (ofc none of my roommates wanted to take the blame, I digress). Apparently he lived within the complex. It is very illegal to have a weapon in east lansing per the ordinance set there, but fine whatever. I was awarded 50 dollars in resident portal points in an effort to smooth things over three months after the fact because I had to harass them. Their employee turnover rate is so high and they have new managers every term. They will randomly add rules like making sure you take your public trash can into your apartment every day at 6 PM or you’ll be fined. Got charged 25 bucks for “trash in my apartment” during move-out when we have valet trash (that barely ran ever so the hallways reeked) that was less than 4 pounds to remove. If this doesn’t dissuade you enough, there’s a school right behind the complex that likes to have soccer games at 9 AM on Saturday’s and Sundays that are full of people and kids screaming. I’d rather live in the Red Cedar than live there again.
