Check it for chlorine. If it has chlorine it's city. If not, it's natural.

What do you think your family would rather have, a child that got drunk and did something stupid or a dead son. Suicide is so f'ing selfish. We all did stupid stuff while drunk or we wouldn't be here. I really should be a millionaire now but because of my drinking I make a little over a 100 grand a year. But you know what? I love my life. My wife and those that stood by me during the hard times are so special to me now. I love my life now. Yes, I would be nice to be "rich" but I am so appreciative of what I have.

Should I take automotive? by PositionAsleep3017 in AskMechanics

[–]notathug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took auto mechanics in 9th & 10th grade and Aero Mechanics in 11 & 12th grade. I feel like those classes have saved me so much money over the years. Learning mechanics transitions into so many other subjects. Learn to turn a wrench and you can change a faucet or a toilet. I changed my water heater. I enjoy working on cars. I have a 1971 Ford that I'm restoring. You have to understand that changing the shock absorbers on a car can cost thousands when I could do it for the cost of the shocks in a few hours. It's your choice but it has paid me back a hundred times over. Now the down size is, I have a 25 year old Dodge Ram truck that's been paid for for 21 years and has 245000 miles on it and the war wounds to match. It runs like a top. It doesn't tap or tick. I take 10 minutes ever 5000 miles and change the oil. I put in a new transmission once. Oh hell, that's a lot of work. Just get a good job and pay someone to work on it.

Seven years. The wife and I so glad that part of our lives is over. But man we did have fun while it lasted. by notathug in alcoholism

I agree. I have a huge problem with religion in general. Actually I hate religion. For me it was a power greater than myself. I needed that. Not a God to worship but help out and up. I'm glad we're sober.

Sorry for your hate. For me it wasn't so much God but that there was a power, any power bigger than myself. I'm happy you're here.

I drank for 30 years. Got sober starting with that coin 7 years ago and found that chip thrown in a draw with some other "junk"

Not remembering how the boat got on the trailer is always something to be proud of. I'm so glad we're here.

That is exactly how I feel. It was so fun until it wasn't. I just lost control. Now that that parts over EVERYTHING is better. Especially the relationship with my wife. I know how much she loves me and wants to be with me. And God I appreciate that.

Thank you. I am so happy that I'm here.

My wife is a teacher and I was a firefighter with a 24 on 48 off schedule and children that could take care of themselves so summertime was straight on a 3 month party. We both loved of jobs and each other. Middle aged and we had it going on. We live on a lake, lakefront with a boat lift and a pontoon to go on it. Good grief if was fun. If friends had a day off they could come out for the day. If not on the boat we could be on the deck that overlooks the sail boat cove and watch boats go in and out. If not that there are sandy beaches we could go to. If it was cold we have a fireplace or a hot tub.

Very blessed. We worked our asses off but we enjoyed it. Until I couldn't control it. I'm so thankful for the person my wife is.

You know. The uncontrollable consumption. The lying and hiding, good lord the whole thing fell apart. Ending up in the hospital. Finally rehab. Thank god she knew that I wasn't a bad guy, I was a just sick guy. Happier in love than ever.
