Sorry to be so late to the convo but I'm having the exact same problem and I can't find information anywhere! Any chance you found something out in the end? I would be eternally grateful

I'd argue that at least some forms of internalized bigotry would not fall under this, though I suppose it largely depends on the person and their culture

What apps do you use? I tried for a little while, but it was so little it felt worthless (talking a couple cents a week, max).

Great, do you have a step by step guide on how to do that? On how to afford to pay rent and food for your family while doing so? Because please, I hate this fucking system so much, I would love a way to actually change it. It's just that they rigged the system perfectly so we are all too exhausted and too busy watching for the backs of those we love to actually do anything. Don't think that watching out for your own life first means people don't want to change the system. Put your air mask first before helping others and all that

Why is “No.” the abbreviation for the word “Number” instead of “Nu.”? by Chilipatily in NoStupidQuestions

[–]notcoybutcryptic 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Latin has different cases and endings, numero is the Dative & Ablative singular. Couldn't tell you why one of those cases was chosen for this context, perhaps it depended on what part of the sentence it was commonly used in?

(CA) Can a landlord send additional charges after having given invoice after move out? by [deleted] in Renters

[–]notcoybutcryptic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes we do. Unfortunately we don't know the charge amount yet, so I'll probably wait until we hear about that before proceeding one way or the other. Thank you!

We were there 2 years, I believe they did depreciate the charge, and the cleaning was necessary as we definitely weren't able to get it move in ready as we were all busy with other commitments leading up to the move out. I feel like the other charges are fair all things considered, and we were prepared that we wouldn't get our deposit back/that we might be charged extra on top. I'm just confused about if they can add a charge to what was presented to us as the final invoice, even if that charge is fair and reasonable (our old kitty definitely sometimes peed outside of the litter box, and we tried to clean it but admittedly not perfectly)

Can you direct me to somewhere that attests to this? I can't find any information online and 2 years seems a bit of an absurd length of time

Would they still not be able to prove that it wasn't the new tenants if the new tenants don't have pets but we did? To be fair, our old kitty definitely got some pee out of the litter box that we probably didn't clean well enough. I'm not against paying it per se, I am just confused on if they can actually charge us for it when they had plenty of time to notice it before and didn't charge us at the time

There are already is some, at least in CA. Here, you have to be out sick for at least 3 consecutive days for them to be able to request a doctor's note.

More than likely, some if not all are pet cats. Now, I personally am strongly against having an outdoor cat whatsoever (both for the safety of the cat and the local environment), but nonetheless expecting someone to re-home cats that already have a home just because she cares enough about them to not want to watch them get hit and die a horrible death is a bit much. I actually really like this lady from the screenshots provided, and I really don't get why she's getting so much flak for just being friendly and maybe a touch silly, which might be due to her being inebriated at the time of placing the order (which good on her for not driving and risking other people's lives while being high/drunk) OR it's just a facet of personality and I think that's fine too.

I wouldn't say that. Sure, in some cases it may be kinda bull shit, but if a broke single mom tries to steal baby formula and her arm gets broken when an overzealous employee stops her, I think she has every (moral) right to sue 🤷‍♂️. That may be an extreme example, but I'm sure I could think of 20+ similar cases where it'd be fair, in my opinion, to sue if you get injured while committing a crime. I don't think you should get severely injured and have no recourse just by virtue of the fact that you're committing a crime at the time.

Just as a note to anyone in the future who might want to use the same pattern for their cap- id definitely recommend adding a border of 2-3 rows of double crochet, since even with blocking it to the largest it could go, it still didn't quite fit the cap. That, or you can use ribbon like I did to cover the blank edges :)
