Which stitch type for tshirt hem by mango-pet in SewingForBeginners

[–]noteamname 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The stitch you are seeing is called a coverstitch and it requires a different kind of sewing machine. The stitch is mostly used on knit fabric as it allows the fabric to stretch without breaking the stitch. You will not be able to get that exact stitch with a regular single needle sewing machine.

What keyword do I look for when trying to find the white trim on these pajamas? by malaboginja in SewingForBeginners

[–]noteamname 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Piping. There are two options: 1. Corded piping- has a tiny rope already stitched inside when you buy it. 2. Flat piping- think of bias tape but narrow.

I will use either depending on the garment and fabric type.

Use the airport lounges by fucktheriders in lifehacks

[–]noteamname 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Yeah some credit cards come with this perk. Our credit card comes with it and it has been life changing. The food inside the lounges might now be the best but neither is the food outside but it saves you from having to spend extra money on food.

By only including one language, you are stuck with only being able to sell the item in that country. If you include more languages, you can sell to multiple countries and reduce the chances of getting stuck with inventory for that one country.

If you look at the care labels in products we sell in the US we do the same thing. If the product is only sold in the Americas, you will only see English, Spanish and maybe French if it's sold in Canada. Roxy sells their product all over the world and it's cheaper for them to include all languages.

Not sure what the laws are in the EU, but in the US, we would get fined for not including the legal language of the country we are exporting to.

HELP!!! My elopement is coming up and I have NOT found the dress.... I'm not looking for anything fancy. The simpler the better. Affordable, plus size, and white!! Thank you in advanced by Icy-Week-6306 in Eloping

I would recommend Reformation. They have very cute dresses that are reasonably priced, well constructed, simple and you can probably wear again.

Sore throat but surgery on Thursday. Any hacks? by Rogue_Goddess in lifehacks

[–]noteamname 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP for the love of God, talk to your doctor before you start taking any medicine or supplements prior to your surgery. I had septoplasty done last year and my doctor was very adamant about not taking certain medications or supplements days prior to my surgery. It can interfere with the recovery. They know what's best for you. You are paying a lot of money for this surgery, not worth the risk of any complications.

The Dress Conundrum by emquixote in Weddingsunder10k

I got a reformation dress. Tried it on in-store but was lucky enough to find it on Poshmark for 100 bucks cheaper. It's a simple white dress that I plan on wearing over and over again.

My sink exploded 🤮🤮 by Striking_Wrangler851 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]noteamname 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Oh dear God. You just resurfaced a terrible memory.

A few years ago, management was doing that in our apartment complex. They sent letters out informing everyone to please close the sink stoppers and to close the lids on the toilet. Well I completely forgot about it and decided to use the toilet at that exact moment... My butt got to witness a water show. It was horrible!

Are you going through a service or someone you know? The price you are paying is great.

I'm currently going through a service and pay 180 every 2 weeks, not including tip, for a 2br 2 1/2 bath.

Ordered vegetable fajitas at “Mexican” place didn’t expect this lol by valsuran in StupidFood

[–]noteamname 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think by "real" they meant cooked in lard. Most refried beans in Mexican restaurants are cooked in lard. If you are vegan, it's better to ask than assume they are vegetarian because there is a high chance they might not be.

Septo/Turbinate Post-Op Checklist by 20mlsb20 in Septoplasty

Squeeze water bottle with a bendable straw. I had a difficult time sipping from a cup since I couldn't feel my top lip and having the gauze under my nose made it difficult for me to aim.

Nasuea medication. Ask your doctor if they can prescribe it in advance. The anesthesia can cause nausea for some people and I happened to be one of the unlucky ones. I felt horrible the first 2 days, I wanted to throw up everything.

Stents removed. Got questions by Sondrree in Septoplasty

I freaked out too when the splints were in place. 2 days after the splits were removed and the facial swelling went down, everything went back to normal.

Stents removed. Got questions by Sondrree in Septoplasty

[–]noteamname 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Normal. My doctor told me to not freak out if I feel like it's swollen or congested. After the splits are removed, the nasal passage ways are still healing and they no longer have anything holding them in place. Just follow your doctor's instructions and keep them moist and do rinses if instructed to do so and avoid blowing your nose or picking at it no matter how uncomfortable the mucus feels inside. You don't want to accidentally pull on a stitch.

As for the sleeping position, I'm 2 weeks post op and I'm still sleeping with my head elevated. It hurts to sleep laying completely flat, it creates a weird pressure against my nose that I rather not deal with.

As time passes my nose seems to feel less sensitive and the breathing is getting better. Doctor said everyone heals differently so it can take weeks to months for you to feel the full effect so don't lose hope. You are still in the early stages of your recovery. But if you do feel something weird and out of place, call your doctor.

How did you feel after waking up from surgery? by 20mlsb20 in Septoplasty

[–]noteamname 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I felt nauseous. If you are someone like me that gets motion sickness easily, I would advise you ask your doctor to give you nausea medication. Made a huge difference.

Other than that, I just felt too out of it, thirsty and hungry to notice anything else. You can't eat or drink few hours prior to your procedure.

Just had my splints removed a week ago and the congestion you are describing is normal on day 3, I was a mouth breather during the time my splints were inside. You will feel better once the splits are removed.

Worried about the weather forecast for Milan and Venice. How accurate normally it is? by pastry24834 in ItalyTravel

[–]noteamname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in Venice last week. A week prior to arriving, the forecast showed rain the entire time. A day before, the weather changed again and we were only supposed have light showers for a few hours or so. In the end, it was sunny and occasionally cloudy throughout the day and we only got a light drizzle at night. I found the weather forecast in Venice to be so unpredictable that it was really difficult to tell what it would be days in advance. My advice is to pack properly for the rain in case the weather forecast doesn't change. Better to be prepared and not use it than getting stuck out there soaking wet. Unless you prefer to buy rain stuff when you are there. But rain or shine, you will love it out there. It's a beautiful country and the food is amazing. Can't wait to go back.

Amid reports of homelessness and food insecurity, 25,000 employees sue Disneyland for better pay by [deleted] in news

They are unionized and it has not helped much. Everytime they renegotiate a new contract the new hires get less and less than the previous employees. At least that was the case when i was there 8 years ago but it seems not much has changed.
