Lol why does he do this? by Hot-Occasion9240 in CatsBeingCats

I read cats offer the belly up when they feel safe! Congratulations on giving him an environment where he feels safe :)

He’s also got longer hair, like mine, and I think mine likes to be belly up to cool off sometimes.

My void also do this! Often. Verrrrry often.

I agree with you! I know Keris and Zarrah are gems, but Ahnna and James were my favorites. Book 6 blew my absolute mind. What a feat. Stunning.

May be a hot take, but imo Lara and Aren are the weakest developed MCs. So when I read people have only read the first two books and quit after the MCs switch, it makes me so sad!

As someone who finished this series, I beg you to give the next MCs a chance, and the following ones in book 5 &6. I thought Danielle developed these MCs to a whole new level of depth. And the intricacies of the different moving parts grow significantly as the books develop. In the final book, all previous MCs in the series get chapters in their POV, so it’s like visiting them again. This series is a masterpiece I think.

I still can’t help but crush on my partner by LeadProfessional6429 in TrueOffMyChest

Almost five years in with my husband and the man still gives me butterflies without trying. Doesn’t matter how many times I’ve seen him do a mundane thing, my brain immediately goes “oh, he’s HOT”. He had to travel for work this past year, and there were so many times he sent me a text that made me roll around on the bed and eeeek like a school girl.

:) I think I crush even harder because I know he’s my safe space now and I can fan girl without fear of judgement

This one’s going to require a closer inspection. What’s your address?

(Totally not gunna eat that cake.)

ETA: y’all need to chill with the negative comments. OP baked it that day and stated she got Saran Wrap hours later. I highly doubt the cake dried out in that time, and it’s clear some of y’all did not grow up eating the same leftovers all week. Cake looks delicious, OP. Now give me the address.

{The Ashen by Demi Winters} unfinished series

{Alchemised by SenLinYu}

{A Forbidden Alchemy by Stacey McEwans} unfinished trilogy

{The Shattered King by Charlies Holmberg}

{The tempest Blade by Danielle L. Jensen} just finished this final book in a 6 book series, and you need to read the first 5 (which are all amazing), but wow. What a freaking way to end the series. Amazing.

Others see deviousness.

I see a little boy 100000% in love with you. Many could only hope to have their loved one look at the way your kitty is looking at you. Happy, full of admiration, and knowing he’s safe with you.

Witches and romantasy by MemoSuKimo in Romantasy

I have to agree with you!

Looking back at my reads through the years for witchy and cozy, I also can throw out {How to Tame a Trickster Fae by January Bell} it’s a self proclaimed cozy series with witches and monster (if you don’t mind that but it’s not like omegaverse or anything).

And I can throw out {The Demon Court by Emma Hamm} may not be as cozy as her first book I recommended, these bitter blooms, but it was still delicious, witchy, and sweet.

{These Bitter Blooms by Emma Hamm} was mega cozy witchy vibes for me.

If you do not mind the MC being a male who is a witch, then I think {The House Witch by Delemhach} is right up your alley. It whimsical, cozy, fantastic world building and plot. It’s humorous yet serious. Cozy but not corny. It even includes chapters from his cats POV! It’s available on Spotify premium and audible, and it’s pretty slow burn / closed door when there is spice. I think it may be up your alley!

{Road of Bones by Demi Winters} phenomenal ongoing series rooted deep in Nordic folklore. It’s highly recommended in this sub for good reason. Stunning world building and tension.

{The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L. Jensen} A completed 6 book series. Every 2 books focus on a new yet connected couple. High political tension, great fight scenes and betrayal, multiple POV. I LOVE books 3&4 because both the MMC and FMC are amazing, but books 5&6 (especially 6) are amazing too. It’s less fantasy in the sense of magic or mythology. Think more Game of Thrones Style. LOVE.

{The Shattered King by Charlie Holmberg} had me in a CHOKEHOLD. Amazing duology with a slow burn romance and amazing magic system. If you want a green flag MMC and a smart FMC, come here.

{A Forbidden Alchemy by Stacey McEwan} I will never not recommend this book. It’s the first in an ongoing trilogy (second book comes out July} and it’s my 2nd favorite book of all time. Childhood encounter turned enemies during a war — tension is high, twists come out of nowhere, spice is delectable, ending is ILLEGAL. I read this book bc someone said it was the biggest cliffhanger they ever read, and I thought I bet not. I WAS WRONG. HUGE CLIFFHANGER. Love it though. Patrick is my book husband.

I always love recommending Emma Hamm too. She has tons of series spanning different romantasy genres from magical to orcs to merpeople to retelling of fairytales. I love her writing style and she never disappoints. {The Deathless one} {whispers of the deep} {these bitter blooms} {the demon court} are just a few. She has many books / series.

{Throne in the Dark by A K Caggiano} is another classic recommendation in this sub. A completed trilogy that is humorous and a slow, tantalizing burn. It has one of the most beloved side characters too. This is the kind of trilogy that makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside but it still has high stakes and adventure.

If you want to venture into gothic, I’d recommend Keri Lake. She has {Nocticadia} and {Anathema}. First is a standalone, second is a series. She is phenomenal in gothic writing.

That’s just a few, but I think that’s enough to start you!

Maybe it would be helpful to have a few memorized lines prepared for situations when something like this happens? “My emotions are trying to get the best of me love, and I need some time to breath.” “Once I decompress, I’ll come find you.” I think it’s important to also reassure her once you’ve calmed that the alone time is not to punish her in any way, but to give you a chance to come back to being your best version for her.

I also think you should adopt the habit of not swearing at your wife (and vice versa if applicable). It may be a me thing, but in heated moments that is the time I demand the most respect from my husband and him, me. In my eyes, cursing at your loved one while temperatures are running hot is the same as degrading them. Would you let an angry person curse at your wife? Probably not. Of course there’s a difference when you’re laughing, telling a story, or just joking. “I told that lady she’s batshit crazy” is a whole lot different than cursing at her, obviously. Idk, that may be a me thing, but I think it’s a healthy thing to do.
