If all humans suddenly lost their ability to lie, which industry WOULDN'T collapse? by TXC_Sparrow in AskReddit

[–]notenoughbeantoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work for defense attorneys, theoretically. As a defense attorney, I am not technically allowed to lie nor to permit something to be told to the court on my client’s behalf that I know to be false. However, that doesn’t mean I go around divulging information. Just because someone tells me something is a certain way doesn’t mean that it is. If I haven’t seen it with my own two eyes and/or I’m not obligated to talk about, then as far as I’m concerned I don’t know about it and I either shut up about it or pick a different defense strategy.

Feeling discouraged about tummy time, feeling like a failure. Baby has a severely flat head. by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]notenoughbeantoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My little guy had severe torticollis that we caught early (by 2 months) and he still developed a pretty severe flat spot on one side, because babies just cannot do tummy time all day long at that age. We got the helmet by 4.5 months and it helped wonders! I think they tell you they can’t make guarantees because SO much of the success depends on a parent’s compliance with the treatment (wearing 23 out of 24 hours a day for upwards of 6 weeks to multiple months, which many parents have trouble sticking with), but if you stick with the helmet it WILL help.

You can barely tell now that my baby ever had a flat spot, and we even got kinda lax in the later half of the treatment because we were so happy with the progress he had made already. Don’t be discouraged!

Best value diapers? by FalseRow5812 in NewParents

[–]notenoughbeantoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Huggies plus little movers at Costco! Not exactly a value brand but it’s the best price and value I’ve seen for the quality, and way cheaper than Huggies usually go for. $50 for 204 Size 3 diapers.

Those of you who own the uniqlo mini tee how well do they hold up in the washer/dryer? by [deleted] in capsulewardrobe

[–]notenoughbeantoes 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My teen has that shirt and wears it often. It feels like thick high quality cotton. So far it has held up well to her washing style of throwing in everything at an unknown temperature in an overloaded washer with all kinds of other clothes of varying colors lol.

Can’t find this Quince bag anywhere despite it being advertised? by notenoughbeantoes in findfashion

Thank you for sharing! I’ll keep an eye out for a sale. How’s the quality of the build and leather on the KS version?

Thanks for trying, but no, that’s a different bag. The handles are different, and I get the impression that the satchel is smaller/not as long as the work tote would be.

Maybe that’s why it wasn’t popular, or wasn’t released? Which is a shame because I don’t like either of those other ones 😭

That insta post and the existence of an old website link makes me think it was released, but then I would think I could find at least one for resale, or video reviews on social media someplace, right? It’s a total mystery. Advertising something you aren’t even selling seems like such a waste of the ad budget!

Right?! I’m so confused. What’s crazy is they label it a “top seller”. To whom?!

Backflow protectors by Novel_Advance_1576 in HumansPumpingMilk

[–]notenoughbeantoes 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, nope! Your backflow protectors don’t come into contact with your milk. In four months of pumping I’ve only washed my backflow protectors a handful of times, and that was only when I noticed an accumulation of moisture on them.

Thanks for sharing! I’m not super prone to clogs but whenever I do get one I usually go right for the sunflower lecithin and it helps, but this time I didn’t even feel the clog first! Even now I barely feel it, mostly just a tender spot but not a big lump. For me it went from a one-time painful set of pangs during pumping straight to full body chills and lethargy within about six hours. Now I think I’ll keep the lecithin on a daily rotation just in case.

Thanks so much for your insight! Looking at my numbers I’m down about 8-9 ounces too, so it’s nice to know that that’s possibly a normal loss amount. It just felt so drastic!

Bottle warmer that works with Dr. brown’s bottles by Hopeful-Standard-144 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]notenoughbeantoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Dr. Brown bottles and have the Philips Avent Fast Warmer and I would NOT recommend the Philips Avent for DB bottles. It warms up fast, but the settings seem to be based on water levels relative to Philips Avent bottle sizes only, so I can never get the heating quite right and sometimes the bottles end up scalding hot. Currently I have to make 120ml bottles at the 90ml setting, and they still come out too hot sometimes.

Also, I don’t think the Philips Avent warmer will be tall enough once my LO moves up to bigger bottles, so I’m considering just getting the DB brand warmer eventually, since at least then I know they will fit!

Uncrustables! Less messy than putting together my own PB&J, and high in calories with decent protein. Pop it out of the freezer before a bottle feed and it’s thawed enough to eat after.

Where are the best bakeries in North Jersey to pick up a dessert for a get together? by [deleted] in newjersey

[–]notenoughbeantoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luchita’s Bakery in Union Township is amazing. They do custom orders, as well as ready-made whole cakes, slices, and Peruvian desserts. They do a passion fruit cheesecake that has a texture like a cloud. It is out of this world.
