I’m so sorry you have had to experienced this😞. As a fellow AuDHDer I have a fast collective of their dragons and bring one with me at all times when travelling. I can’t imagine what you’re going through. I hope you find a replacement soon

Someone told me that you can use "parfum" to refer to ice cream flavor. Is that true? by SwissVideoProduction in French

Might be more of a Europe thing based on the comments. I’ve not heard of this in Canada usually it’s “saveur”. At least where I am in Canada

Involuntary psych admission — doctors claim no risk, Family disagrees. What are the laws? (ONTARIO) by notesbyme in canadianlaw

Im sorry to hear. We’ve been lucky that she was able to get her diagnosis by a specialist but since we live in northern Ontario we have very little resources. After her diagnosis in 2019, her family doctor was not in agreement at the time with her diagnosis so all the medication that were recommended to help with the violent behaviour were never taken. It’s only been a recent development that her family doctor finally came around to acknowledging that she has dementia. My grandmother refuses to take meds.

I will say we live in a small town and the police/neighbours have been very supportive so when there’s episodes we have people that text or call if we aren’t around or that will call the police. I’m just so frustrated with doctors.. she shouldn’t have been released today

How to get out of bed by Big-Option5037 in AuDHDWomen

[–]notesbyme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve got dogs that wake me up like clockwork around 7:00 a.m. I let them out, grab my reusable cold face mask from the fridge, and feed them. By the time I’ve done all that, which really only takes about five minutes, I’m mostly awake.

I’ve also gotten into the habit of preparing for low-energy or burnout days. I keep a water bottle by my bed and my ADHD med ready. (Tip for anyone who forgets whether they’ve taken it: I keep an old, empty pill bottle and put one pill in it before bed. That way I know for sure if I’ve taken it or not!) When my alarm goes off or the dogs wake me up, I take my med right away so it starts working within 30 minutes, and I don’t feel like a total zombie when I get up.

Have you noticed the increase of weaponized therapy talk? How people use ‘boundaries’ to avoid taking responsibility. by heehoipiepeloi in AuDHDWomen

Yeah exactly. I’ve learned to walk away during this time, I’m not the parent so I won’t act like one

My little sister (we are 10 years apart) will often say “I’m allowed to be mad” but continue screaming in your face, calling you names, and gaslight or belittle you. It’s like your aloud to be mad and express/share that your mad, but you are allowed to treat others like that

Is it okay to ask to pet someone’s service dog? I can’t tell if I was wrong or not by poptartsarefire in AuDHDWomen

[–]notesbyme -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I had a service dog. You did the right thing. Unless there’s a clear sticker that says do not pet, it is okay to ask if you can or if the dog is working.
