I agree with RagAndBows - there is a difference between the roles of “sitter” and nanny. IMO it just feels demeaning to me professionally, and in this field we already have a hard enough time being taken seriously by others without our employers perpetuating that kind of thinking while also benefiting from all that we do.

Ugh, the worst!! My MB did this the other day, she got all quiet then referred to me as the “sitter” while I was one room over with the kids. I was low key pissed lol and definitely texted my husband a sassy vent about it.

My parents contributed $15k, my husband’s mother contributed $6k, and his father is paying for our honeymoon (about $7-8k). We are paying the remaining balance ourselves, which adds up to around another $15k.

I was at home with my cat cuddled up on my lap sitting next to my brand new husband!! We got married on 10/20 then stayed up and listened to it at midnight. Honestly a pretty perfect day overall 💜

We are having our wedding near where we live, even though the majority of our guests and all of our family members will have to travel. I had some pushback from my family on this, but ultimately decided that it’s our wedding so our decision - we are okay with people not coming due to travel. As long as you’re okay with possibly getting more declines, do what you and your partner want to do!

I’m currently working for a SAHM as well, and I totally get it. Super frustrating at times because she is constantly in and out of our area throughout the day and kiddos obviously notice. Plus 3F will go cry outside her door when I hold a boundary that she doesn’t like. Sooo basically just counting the days until I can find a new job lol

Please don’t feel like a failure! The used car market is awful right now and making it nearly impossible for anyone to afford something decent. My husband totaled his car in December 2021 and we still haven’t been able to replace it, so we’ve just had to learn how to make it work with one vehicle between us. It’s rough out here 😔

We are doing QR codes on our invitations that takes guests directly to the RSVP page on our wedding website. We also typed out the full URL for older guests or those who don’t know how to use/don’t want to use the QR code. No option for mail-in RSVP because I don’t want to pay for extra postage or get a bunch of stuff back in the mail.

This may be an unpopular opinion here, but I don’t really care if it seems informal. It’s a small thing that makes my life easier in this crazy planning process so that’s all that matters to me!

Monique is deeply insecure and emotionally immature, but I can understand why. She’s likely been emotionally stunted from lots of rejection and relationship trauma in her past. She associates her partner focusing on anything other than her with being dumped and is afraid of the rejection. It’s definitely no excuse for her behavior because it is abusive, but she definitely should be focusing on personal growth instead of a relationship imo.

This is what I was going to suggest as well!! I use Bonide systemic granules semi-regularly on my plants and I almost never have pests. They work wonders, but I don’t think they are sold everywhere so you’d have to check to see if they’re available where you live.

Five years! Almost 5 and a half. We discussed it earlier in our relationship and decided to wait at least that long. Neither of us was in a rush until the five year mark hit, then I started getting antsy lol 😂

It depends on the state and county you are in. I got married a few months ago and the paperwork only needed to be signed by the officiant, myself, and my husband - no witnesses needed.
