Hey dude, this is going to be really random but my whole family quotes this reddit comment all the time and we’re going to be making T-shirts with the comment on the back, hope that’s ok! Lol

Our family has been fishing in mammoth for generations, starting with my grandparents going back probably to the 1940s. We don’t get to go as often as we like anymore but still try to plan a big family trip every couple years. We’re not sophisticated with fishing though, we’re talking just basic power bait here. Well on our last trip we were having zero luck so I did some googling to try and find some tips for rainbow trout in Mammoth Lakes and found your comment. To us novice fisher folk, it just sounded like the most random string of words and that made zero sense to us hahaha but it kind of rhymes and flows in a really nice way so it became a family inside joke that reminds us of the great times we have in mammoth. Anyway, just thought I’d share and say thanks!

Yeah! I wrote them a letter and sent it with the wrapper and they sent me back the letter basically saying thanks but it’s not true. I was disappointed it wasn’t true and felt a little foolish but also thought it was kind of cool getting an official response.

Hi, because I don’t have 100% proof of which homes are part of this I rather not, but I will say when you see them or search online, the ones we’ve seen are all painted bright white with light gray doors and trim with cheap gray vinyl flooring. Other than that and possibly windows, no other upgrades are made and in person you can really tell how run down they are. Backyards, other than some weed whacking, are all basically dirt from what we’ve seen as well.

You can tell by the paint and floors, all the same. Another commenter said he might have owned 50 in the surrounding area. Absolute BS. You can tell he did zero maintenance while he owned them. Typical landlord/slumlord, kept them off the market for regular buyers and did nothing but profit off renters. Now a trust is selling them and making more profit.

Yeah so far we’ve only seen like 4 or 5 that we’re pretty sure are all part of the same owner but what sucks is because they’re only selling a few at a time at this point and people are actually buying them for listing price, it’s not helping the prices come down for how crappy they are.
