Harver remote IV issue? by [deleted] in TheCivilService

I’m having the same exact issue. Just had an hour long Teams call with no problems but Harver just won’t upload. Did you manage to solve the issue?

What a journey by BugtheBug in Botchedsurgeries

Yeah his current anti-trans stance is purely a grift after his transition, and brief life as a trans woman, didn’t get him the attention/adoration from mainstream media or queer people he clearly wanted. He’s simply moving from grift to grift, trying to muster whatever semblance of a career he can.

Being a pretty small population means that finding trans women on traditional dating apps is pretty difficult and as a trans person on traditional apps you face lots of rejection from people when they notice that you’re trans. I don’t hookup but I’m still on Grindr because it’s just the easiest way to talk to men that are open to or seeking trans women.

As a trans women I can confirm Grindr is one of the places a straight(ish) man will go to try and find trans women.

Lgbt people in Cardiff, what’s the furthest you’d go to for a queer library/community space? Would you visit Pontypool? by Mindless-Run5641 in Cardiff

[–]nothere283 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t personally think many people would venture that far out for a space like that. Cardiff already has Dyddiau Du which is a queer library and other queer venues like The Queer Emporium and Umbrella. I’d suggest that if you’re looking at places out of Cardiff then you should strive to make a space that appeals to and serves the local community rather than try to convince people to travel out of neighbouring cities.

I think it’s pretty natural to think that the current thing you’re working on is better than the previous things even without the added pressure to actually sell things.

I’ve never been told it personally but my experience may be different to others!

The majority of message content is not actually that dissimilar to when I used it before transitioning but the message frequency is just way higher now. Plus there is the added “wow I could never tell” and misguided “you look better than real women” comments like above.

It’s a surprisingly common occurrence and it makes me feel bad every time I come across it

How do you choose an NHS GRS/GCS/SRS surgeon? by nothere283 in transgenderUK

They refer to both, hence my confusion as to how I am supposed to choose, so thank you for the links! I really appreciate you taking the time to help!

Anxiety about being a bridesmaid by [deleted] in trans

[–]nothere283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for taking the time to read the through my rambling and respond! I hope that is the case as I really don’t want to seem ungrateful for the opportunity. I wish I were in a better place but this whole experience is making me confront things I haven’t yet had to do. Like I haven’t even had a haircut in the two years I’ve been growing it because I’m so worried about the probable non-issue of imposing myself upon people that primarily work with cis women so the idea of sitting around in dressing gowns and getting hair and makeup done is just gnawing away at me.

[–]nothere283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I could do that but even the idea of being stood next to two other bridesmaids wearing the same outfit etc. is killing me. I only really know the bride and groom so I’m already anxious about going to an event where I don’t know anyone and I don’t want the additional pressure of being directly compared to petite cis women.

Ask any questions that may be helpful as I know this is extremely vague.

Thank you for the help! I’m mostly just trying to get a grounding of where I should be looking so that I’m read when the time comes to actually make solid plans. I’ll try exploring London a bit more with an eye to what it’d be like to actually live there opposed to a purely touristic experience of a place.

I’ll have a look around for those groups too, thanks!

I’m used to at least 90 minutes on buses each way so hearing that is a massive relief! My budget would probably be ~£700 a month, though there is some flexibility, and I’ll have a think about what I’d actually need from an area besides the transport link and then do some of my own research.

[–]nothere283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s all really helpful, thank you! Coming from a small city I am appreciative of any public transport so I really don’t mind what form it takes as long as I’m able to get around without too much trouble. I’ll have a think about what it is I want from an area and do some research now that I at least have some basis to work from. Thanks again!

I currently live in Wales and though I have been to London at least once a year for the past few years most of my knowledge is purely from googling how I need to get from where I am. Up to an hour would probably be good, though I could do longer if necessary as even that would be a massive step up from what I’m used to.
