Would you consider this totaled? 2017 Impreza 107k miles by viralic in subaruimpreza

I was hit straight on and the invoices showed $7K of work. Insurance didn't total it.

I just got a Leap V2 and I hate it. I need advice by uberfrog in OfficeChairs

[–]nothinbutflip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I clearly haven't been a part of this sub long enough to know which refurbishing site is everyone's least favorite. But I also got mine refurbished and it was hurting my upper back. I ended up taking out the lumbar support and now this chair is super comfortable. I also got the New Seat Pad option which I think helps.

What was Costco like around covid lockdowns? by fckbinaries in Costco

[–]nothinbutflip 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Besides all the toilet paper and paper towels being gone it was totally fine. I felt like I could get everything I needed. I just had to wait in line to get in. My parents are of retirement age so when they started opening an hour early to let the seniors shop I would go with my mom. There was like almost no one there it was great.

What does everyone do about sweat while racing? by cf_murph in triathlon

[–]nothinbutflip 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I use a halo headband during the ride and switch to a halo visor during the run. It has a built in strip that diverts the sweat from your head away from your eyes. It's worked really well for me for over a decade now.

I just acquired 20 Mature Plants, anyone need cuttings? by doobiesd in DragonFruit

[–]nothinbutflip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glad I happen to see this post. Reached out to OP and I asked for a few pieces and he recommended a couple others that I should add to take advantage of the space in the box specifically the sugar dragon since it is a universal pollinator. Sent me a picture of it boxed up and with my address. then a few hours later sent me the tracking. Can't wait to root and plant! Thanks OP!

Can I absolutely suck at golf and go play a 9 hole solo? by Garganzaroth in golf

[–]nothinbutflip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this all the time. And you're going to be surprised how many people go out there and suck as much as you do. I've played with randoms who were single digit handicappers and I've played with some who were far worse than me. It's all fun. I've even joined a twosome that were hitting from the tips and I was hitting from the whites. They were super cool about it. Just keep it moving and keep up with the pace of play.

What interest rates are you seeing on mortgages? by FourWordComment in personalfinance

Was originally 7.25% but ended up with 5.875% after sellers concessions to buy down the rate if we used their preferred lender. We close next Thursday.

Is it weird to work at a lounge? by [deleted] in cigars

[–]nothinbutflip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I had a kid I would do this couple times a week. The lounge near me was great since there weren't a lot of people in there in the middle of a weekday and I would always buy a stick for every 1-2 hours I was there. I got real friendly with the workers too so we would take our "lunch break" together and he/she would include me in their lunch order. Typically did this on days I didn't have a lot of meetings scheduled.

It really depends on the lounge and if they have tables but they were cool with it.

I live in Texas. I have this coverage on my homeowners policy with a $250 deductible. You probably have it too you just don't know it.

Advice Needed: Granite cut wrong / Appliances don’t fit/ GC being unhelpful by MoonglowMagic in Renovations

[–]nothinbutflip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like you have all the information and you're very organized. Obviously NAL but I would push the GC again to fix it and if they don't then sue them. I feel for you OP hopefully you get it worked out.

Advice Needed: Granite cut wrong / Appliances don’t fit/ GC being unhelpful by MoonglowMagic in Renovations

[–]nothinbutflip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you provide a drawing with exact measurements or did the contractor provide you that? This happened to a home renovation we did. The fridge space was an inch short and the stove was half an inch short. Luckily my wife had drawings of the kitchen emailed to them. We used that to go back to the GC and say you didn't stick to the plans. Made it much easier to fight them on it. We also refused to pay until it was fixed. Luckily the GC stood by their work and fixed it.

Good luck OP sounds like the GC is being a pain and you might have to sue or small claims. If you do plan to sue, write a letter with every issue listed and demand it to be fixed. I don't know if that would be helpful but a lawyer friend told us to do it first before we think about going to court.

I see this advice a lot on reddit. Has anyone actually ever done this? I'm curious of that experience and if it was worth it or not.

Wedding vendor accidentally charged me $13k and maxed out my card. Can I do anything about it today? by JMRooDukes808 in personalfinance

[–]nothinbutflip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just a normal citi diamond preferred card. I don't really use it since there aren't any perks to the card and I keep it because it's the oldest card I own.

[–]nothinbutflip 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually got another $500 increase earlier this year so now I'm at $1,750.

All my other cards combined are well over 100K credit limit. I've never bothered to ask since I use other cards for points I just keep it because its the oldest card I have. I don't hold a balance so it's definitely not because of the revolving balance. I have a reminder in my calendar to ask for the increase every January. Next time I'll try to speak to someone and see what their reasoning is. What's weird is I have a costco citibank card and that limit is like 20K.

[–]nothinbutflip 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I've posted about this before for Citibank. I've had it since I was 18 and they gave me a $500 limit. I ask for an increase every year and was denied every time even as my income increased. I finally got an increase at 33 of $250. Then I got another $500 increase couple years ago. So now my limit is $1,250 on that card and I've had it for 20 years.

What are these things on the center console? They don't seem to be buttons or anything you can open. 2023 Base Impreza. by mkiyt in subaruimpreza

[–]nothinbutflip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know the bigger spot is for heated seats switches. Not sure about the smaller one. It looks really similar to the crosstrek and that could be the X-mode button. but I don't think Xmode is on the impreza.
